Hey there, everybody.
Anyone had any success with air purifies for their pollen, dust or other allergies? If so, any recommendations. If not, why not? Many thanks, T. Posted on 05/31/09, 02:05 pm |

I use air purifiers a lot. They have been very helpful, though my main problem is chemical sensitivities, not so much conventional allergies.
There are so many on the market. I use a model made by E L Foust company. Check out the NEEDS website, they'll likely have many to choose from. Also Janices, Lifekind, etc. Good luck!

I use the Austin air brand and it works really well. It removes dust, pet dander, mold, viruses, chemicals, odors, and pollen.

My daughter has had good luck using electrostatic filters. We are on a budget, but if you look around at the thrift stores, you can usually find them a good price. Get the ones with a metal pre filter and an optional activated charcoal post filter. They are easy to test, they should make a gentle crackle or hissing sound when the high voltage is present.
The electrostatic filter is good for dust, pollen and most smoke. The charcoal helps with many chemicals, but not all.
