Could all of this be sinus related?

Hi people :-)

I have (among other things) Chronic Sinusitis, Allergic Rhinitis and a Deviated Septum (left side). I have noticed that when my sinuses get really clogged due to the high pollen count (or other factors) that I get this very intense loopy, foggy, "pressure" sensation in my head as if I was in a daze and can't think clearly. At times it feels like my brain is scrambled and my eyes get really buggy and unfocused.

It was like this for months during the severe allergy season we just came through and then let up for a little while but just recently I fogged a room (roaches) and once again my allergies began acting up again because of the chemicals. For the last 3 days I've had this horrible foggy, loopy, fuzzy, "pressure" feeling in my head along with buggy vision and just this afternoon (sorry to be so graphic) I could feel huge globs of mucous draining down from my sinuses and gradually all the fuzzy, foggy, loopy, "pressure" feelings in my head began to go away.

My question is this...does any of this sound familiar?. Is all of what I've described here pretty normal for someone with sinus problems?. I mean, the triggers, the way the symptoms develop/resolve with drainage, etc.

- Thanks, AnxietyNoFun

" Sounds pretty darn familiar to me! I'm up this morning and the mold levels have been high lately. I can relate to the foggy and loopy feelings.

have a couple phone interviews and will jump in the shower soon to shake the morning ich.

Hang in there!! "

" Yep. That about nails it for me too. Anxiety always goes way up w that crap(and I have all that stuff u mentioned).
The crazy thing is, I don't even know why till the worst is over! Fogginess makes me feel so much slower and dumber at times!

One help I found w the chemical triggers (besides changing as much to unscented, natural stuff as possible).
I take Ubiquinol every day now. It is simply a reduced, concentrated form of CoQ10. It has helped tremendously w my body's ability to break down and deal w environmental triggers. Chemical, mostly.
But , I have noticed now that if I don't take it one night, I can def feel a difference. Intake 100 mg. of a decent brand- don't use crappy cheapest kind.
Hope this helps!
It was recommended to me by another daily strength member on the multiple chemical sensivities board. Passing it along. :)

Feel better! "

" Thanks very much for your replies!. Well, the intense (and very severe) brain fog finally lifted yesterday but I laid with my back up against the arm of the chair while watching TV for several hours last night and so before going to bed and all day today my upper back has felt like someone punched me in it along with periods of shortness of breath, continuing strange feelings/sensations in my head and last night I was laying there trying to fall asleep on my side when all of a sudden it felt like my entire body shifted/moved an inch or two over on the bed. Very strange and scary!. Also, a feeling of tightness around my throat (like someone was slightly squeezing it with their hand whenever I'd swallow).

I have anxiety, sinus issues and cervical arthritis (among several other things) and I don't know if all of this is being caused by all of these things, a combination of one or two or what's going on. Seen scores of doctors over the years...tests...etc. Feel like I'm just doomed and dying sometimes )-: "

" I know how you feel! i'm only 25, but i can clean my turtle's tank the night before and the next day the backs of my legs ( just sat on the tub while cleaning) feel like i've been beaten with a bat. But the sinus stuff is a hassle for sure. Try switching to free and clear detergents, keep your windows closed to keep mold and pollen out, try avoiding perfume /scented stuff when possible. When i walk behind someone who's wearing perfume i feel like i've been maced, literally choking and coughing, flailing around. get on a daily allergy med, nasal spray, and up your vitamin intake "

" Yes yes and YES. Living with sinus issues is really difficult and exhausting.

I would suggest going to an ENT (ear nose and throat) doctor or an allergy doctor in your area for testing. I've been frustrated with the process but it is at least a start (you may need to start allergy therapy or they can give you a prescription nasal spray and recommend other drugs). Mucinex D (over the counter but have to see the pharmacist) also works wonders (have to take with a big glass of water).

One other concern -if you have roaches -they can also cause allergies. I have had the battery of allergy tests done twice in the last ten years and roaches are actually one of the items that they test for. You may be allergic to roaches as well.

I would get an exterminator in ASAP and stay with someone for a day or two if possible to get rid of them. "
