I used flonase as directed by doctor and now my nose and sinuses are dried out. It seems like my turbonates in the forehead are not working, nor are the cilia in my nose. So I am always dried out and it causes alot of sick feelings in my head and inability to lay down for long at night. this has gone on for about three months now and no doctor can help me with it. Has anyone had this problem with flonase?

" Yes...flonase dried my nose out but I figure it is better than filling my sinuses with fluid. Wondering what you mean about inability to lay down at night? I have insomnia, is that what you are talking about? "

" My son, when he first started treatments for allergies, was given Flonase. He was 6 or 7, can't remember right now. Anyway, the Flonase caused really bad nose bleeds with him. He would wake up in the morning and his pillow covered in blood. He had to go off of it. He has taken Zyrtec for years now. "

" Have you tried anything else for your allergies or seen a specialist? I never had this problem with flonase but something definately needs to be done for you. I hope you get some answers soon. "

" I have now been on this since the end of Oct. I wasn't sure if it was doing anything since its cold out now and my allergies should not be bothering me as much...although I seem to be very allergic to the heat in our house..don't know if the ducts need to be cleaned or what but I wake up with a cough a lot. Anyways....my script ran out and I haven't gotten it refilled yet. I can really see a difference. I haven't been feeling well and have been congested...although it could be a cold...never know with that post nasal drip stuff...not to mention I work with a bunch of germ ridden tots all day. "

" Flonase has alcohol in it! YIKES. Nasacort and Rhinocort has Hydrochloric acid added YIKES! I am in pharma and won't even take my company's own product...ONLY take Nasonex it is the best. Won't dry you out and doesn't burn. You will soooo thank me. "
