Advice:
Claritin-D

I bought the OTC Claritin-D(the 24 hour kind) and took 1 pill Tuesday morning before work. Well...I felt really "jittery" on the inside and got this AWFUL taste in my mouth that lasted 2 days AND completely lost my appetite for 2 days. And the first night-I didn't sleep at all and still felt "wired" all the the next day.
As for relief of symptoms and pressure it worked GREAT and pretty fast.
Has anyone else experienced these types of side effects when taking meds with a decongestant or when taking Claritin-D?
Unfortunately, the meds w/o the decongestant just don't relieve the pressure in my head and sinuses. I was wondering too if I switched to the Claritin-D 12 hour if that would help the side effects.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks and hope you all have a sneeze free weekend:)

" Yes, amber, I had the bad taste symptom also with Claritan -D!I don't know for sure if it was the meds or just having nasty sinus problems in general, and also the jittery part lessened for me after a couple weeks of use.Not sure if the 12 hour type would make any difference..best of luck with ANY sneeze free days! :) "

" Honestly I can't take Claritin-D. I am allergic to it.. But the jittery wired feeling we go away after a few weeks of use. You might want to ask your Dr about a nasal spray instead. Some make my nose bleed but RhinoCort Aqua works best for me and I don't take decongestants anymore. "

" I called my Dr. yesterday and told him how it was affecting me-he called in an Rx for Allegra. He also said he wasn't going to give the the decongestant yet, I pick up the Rx today and hopefully over the next few days we'll see how it works. I'm keeping my nose hairs crossed that it works with no nasty side effects. Thanks for yalls input-I appreciate it!! "

" Yes, I do get jitters at first with Claritin-D or equal but it works so well, and the side effect does wear off. Strangely enough, I cannot tolerate Allegra, for whatever reason. Gives me an out of body experience. Good luck!! "
