i was diagnosed with endometriosis at 18 and am now 27. I have had 6 surgeries and been on lupron 4 times. i just finished my last cycle on it at the beginning of sept. i have only had 8 days that i wasn't bleeding and i am on the pill already. i have to take 2 pills/day to keep the bleeding to a minimun (still some slight spotting). the cramping is unbearable even with 1.5 pills of ES Vicodin. I can't get in to see my GYN until i get health insurance. I am beyond frustrated. I do no have any kids and i really want to try to have my own, but my BF and i have only been together for a year and we (well HE) isn't ready yet and i can't expect him to want to rush into it just because i have this condition. I mean he hasn't dealt with it as long as i have, so he doesn't understand.
This disease is putting a huge strain on our relationship due to the fact that the bleeding and cramps prevent us from having a lot of sex.

PLEASE HELP! if you have any ways to help me with the pain/bleeding i would love to hear it. i'm just so frustrated and upset.

thanks in advance!

" It sounds like you are in a bind! It's so frustrating when you can't get the care you need due to insurance or lack there of. What sometimes helps me with the pain is heating packs that you wear under your clothes by Thermacare. I have also heard that Aygestin can help with excessive bleeding. I am on it now to deal with Lupron side effects. Also staying off your feet can help with bleeding. Have you gone to an ER and had them check you out? The bleeding is worrisome. I know most hospitals have "discounts" for patients with no insurance or a program where you may not pay anything due to financial reasons.

I hope you get this sorted out and feel some relief soon!

" thanks so much. i have made an appoitment for 245 today (EST) and have told them i don't have insurance. they said they might be able to do a discount rate for me since i'm an established patient. I need to find out why i keep bleeding even though the pills (even though i know they will say it's from the endo) and if there is something they can give me for the fatigue i get from all the bleeding/pain. I've been on progesterine only pills in the past and have bled through them as well. I think i'm at the point where i REALLY need to convince my BF that it's time we TRY to have a baby....

I'll check back in when i get out of the doctor's office.

thanks again for responding. "

" It sounds like you really need some guidance and someone to help this situation!
Even if it costs you, do you think it would be possible to see an actual endo specialist? I say this because if you had seen someone really well versed in treating endo, they surely would have suggested a pre-sacral neurectomy or LUNA procedure for the cramping by now before trying another round of Lupron or surgery. This is done during a lap and they sever a nerve that stops cramps FOREVER in most women (I had it done a year ago).
If you get the chance to see a doc, ask them about this!

I understand the strain pain can put on your relationship and the rush to have kids. But you definitely need to sort out the problem of the constant bleeding before trying for babies (Or a miscarriage will probably result I would assume). "

" they did in fact change my BCP and gave me more pain meds. They switched it from ortho-novum 1/35 to ortho-novum 1/50 and told me to NOT take 2 if I start to bleed, but to call them... so i said i would. I had to get it ordered at my local pharmacy and will pick it up this afternoon. they only filled 1 pack (i usually get 3/time because i do continuous) and that was $39.99 since i dont have insurance and then it was another $30 for the ES Vicodin.... i could handle that... so i'm hoping this works this time.

my bf found something online about a progesterine oil cream thing called progestelle that has rave reviews from endometriosis suffers, but i didn't get a chance to talk to my doctor about it. i think we are going to order it though and give it a try.
