Alright, It's my first month of lupron and I have finally for the first time in my life been pain free for almost 3 days now. I have a TON of really bad side effects. and then I found this
http://www.ktnv.com/Global/story.a... It's about lupron. I don't know what to do. I am TERRIFIED! No one told me about any of this!! Posted on 11/02/09, 03:11 pm |

i have read this all a few months back when someone posted about its bad side effects...
i personally would'nt touch the stuff.. and considering its just temporary pain relief i do not see the point. i do know that it can shrink endo nodules and can slow down infertility etc. but like the article itsself says that the bad of the drug outweigh any bad from endo. hey, i dont even put coca cola into my bod ! this is my personal point of view... xx

Hang in there - if you are pain free you may see that the side effects are not as horrible as the effect of chronic pain.
I am on both sides of the fence with Lupron. On one hand, I refuse to try it before having kids because I am concerned about long term effects and I do read all the horror stories on here. On the other hand, I know that while I was pregnant I got TOTAL relief of symptoms, and that was because I was not ovulating (like with Lupron). I have had very good doctors suggest Lupron to me, so I think the reason they do not go into all the possible side effects and outcomes is that they hope for the best and do not want to start you off thinking it is useless. from what I do know about Lupron, it is one of the only drugs that actually slows or stops endo growth, so let's hope it does the same for you. I hope you continue to get relief and wish you some pain free days for a while at least.

I have read the horror stories aswell i was on Zoladex for 6 months which i understand is the same thing or similar my health is worse than ever and now i do not ovulate. if you are having trouble and want to stop it its your body you should stop it.

hey, i am on lupron, io got my third shot a week ago, im on the one every 4 weeks right now, and yes my endo is different mine is on the lungs but i have to say its been a saviour so far, i am able to go back to college since i was out for 3 yrs, and i am no longer stuck in bed. i have to say tho that i do get side effects, hot flashes really bad, mood swings and low sex drive, but im on hormonal add back for all of that and its been helping, so this is just my personal experience and i talk to another women in my city that is on it as well and its been working for her as well. there are alot of horror stories out there and i cant tell you what your outcome will be, but just for some reassurence it does it for some women as well as it doest work for some. but i have very good doctors that i work with who i travel hours to see and they have choosen this for me and i dont think they would stear me in the wrong direction. but trust your own instinct, go with what you think is best for you. but dont let any horror stories scare you away from it, as well as any success stories push you to take it...do what you believe is best for you*
Much Love*

Yeah, I've decided that I won't be continuing lupron. So I guess I'm off to the chronic pain clinic.
