Chinese Herbs and Acupuncture

Hey ladies. I've decided to add Chinese herbs and acupuncture to my regiment. I found this really cool doctor of Oriental medicine who claims that herbal treatments have helped patients with endo.

The herbal compound is called Gui Zi Fu Ling Wan, manufactured by a company called Shanghai Lei Yun Shang pharmacuticals. The herbs come in the form of tiny round brown colored pills that look like ballbearings. They smell sweet like candy. The cost for 200 pills was only $4.00!!!!!

I've been taking them for two days along with Tramadol. So far i've felt a slight improvement.

Next Tuesday i'll start the acupuncture. I can hardly wait. I had acupuncture about ten years ago for a shoulder injury I sustained in a car accident.I tried physical therapy, massage therapy, chiropractic, and painkillers. Nothing worked, and the pain was sooo knarly. My doctor wanted me to have surgery, which freaked me out, so being desperate, I figured i'd try anything.

I'd read a liitle about acupuncture so I thought i'd give it a try. After my second treatment i'd imporved by about 85%. I couldnt believe it. After about 2 months of acupuncture and herbs, my shoulder was completely healed. This was after trying for about 4 months with western medicine.

I would have tried acupuncture and herbs before with the endo, I just did'nt think I could afford it becasue it is not coverd by my insurance. But amazingly I found some practioners that are very reasonable.

I'll keep you ladies informed. Prayers for us all.
Lovebyrd

" Good luck! I've heard about acupuncture and that it is helpful! I know my insurance doesn't cover it but it might be worth it! My pain has returned daily and I'm off all my medicine. Keep us all posted on how it goes and whether you feel better with it - I'm very interested! "

" I had those exact herbs! I found they helped....
And I have been trying to express to all the women on here who are willing to have surgeries, take tons of meds and spend thousands on specialists that acupuncture SAVED MY LIFE!!!
I find it bizarre women are wiling to stop working, get major surgeries etc. and pay thousands for medications, but won't put a few months into trying a few needles in them (which don't hurt at all).

I had surgery with the BEST doctor and even that didn't stop my pain. I started acupuncture (and frankly, did not believe it would work...how could needles in my skin stop endo in my abdomen?!). But after 3 months of treatments I am 90% better. Honestly, it was the best thing that I ever tried. I started going once a week and when times were bad went twice a week. Soon I should be able to go down to once every 2-3 weeks....you need it less and less....

I also have NO coverage for this (in Canada it is not free and my work insurance doesn't cover it). I worried about this, and have spent at least $400/,month for 5 months now...but in the end, when the pain got better, my PMS improved and my hormones seemed to regulate, I told my acupuncturist I would have paid her $10 million dollars for the relief it gave me.

A warning - often with acupuncture you feel MUCH worse after each treatment for a day or so. This is a sign it is working and if you stick with it, the treatments will flare things up for one night, then you will feel 100 times better by the next day!
Good for you - tell us how it works!!! "
