first of all, thank you who ever takes the time to read this... xx i have tried to describe 'it' to the best of my ability...
im still not diagnosed, and i am doubting i have endo. im on a waiting list that can be as soon as 3 weeks untill my laproscopy ad hysterscopy. i want to push for a colonoscopy before a lap. ( this is not 'IBS' ) i have very bad lower back pain/ache. it does get worse before period. but its currently after my cycle and its so bad... it extends all the way down my legs.. so badly it feels as though my legs will go in to an 'epeleptic' fit. my tail bone and rectum pain also extend to my buttox. also my groin area. i get the feeling of period like cramping inside my lower back area which would be the cul de sac/pouch of douglas. i imagine endo to be more localized... but lately its been radiating to nearly mid back ... ( not spine, but furher inside ) i can feel it is either in my 'bowel canal' or just outside it. its like a preassure. one minute its a period feeling, the next it totally irritates my bowel. i get a hot flush inside and also cold chills, which extend down my legs... i have heard of adhesions at the tail bone rectum area.. maybe a posibility. im just at a loss, and i am so SO scared nothing will be found in my lap. there is something wrong. the 'preassure' it creates inside that area literally compresses my body and to breathe makes me sweat, i have started staying more confined to bedrest as i just can not deal with walking around and 'irritating' what ever it may be... the toll it takes extends to my head and everything is lightheaded. last night i got very dizzy ( i do not have anxiety ) and last night i feel i have moved into another stage of 'its' severity with the tail bone pain 'vamping' up... it was deafning pain. also causes heavy fatigue and breathlesness. from the 'preassure'/'irritation' does this sound familiar ? anything from anyone.... xx Posted on 07/03/09, 10:07 am |

ohh ladies thank you so much for your replies. utah, what a jerk, seriously ! gets to me, as i have been treated like garbage too. and your doc who said - It cannot show IBS, as that is just a term for bowel problems that are unexplained:. .. deserves a medal for saying that in itself and how he worded it, lol. ibs and fibrommyalgia i believe to be lame excuses.
im aware about endo near the bowel not being able to be seen in a colonoscopy. i want a cnnoscopy to rule out any bowel disorders. i did have a barium swallow, so now i am trying to come up with, is there any bowel disorder that would show in cononoscopy that wont show in any other scan or test. oh i do imagine bowel prp to be horrid, especially for someone as tiny as me. for my lap s he said just make sure my bwels are empty or they wont see a thing.. because upn examination i was very full. i am just going to take some laxatives and eat fruit... plenty of prunes always get me going, lol. but now as i type this im thinking im scared my bowels may play up and be majorly constpipated. thank you again ! xx

There is a specific bowel prep hospitals ask you to do before surgery and it is not laxatives etc. The bowel prep for a colonoscopy is also a special one (You get the drink at a drug store and make it at home and that is all you drink for 24 hours (and you poo like you have never pooed before!). Before a colonoscopy you have to avoid seeds, red dyed foods and certain things, or they will not be able to see things.
For surgery, my surgeon was good enough to detach my bowel from my uterus WITHOUT any bowel prep (he said that is only needed when a 'bowel resection' might happen, which again only happens if the endo has invaded the bowel). So for me, avoiding eating heavily two days before, and NOT eating anything after 9 pm the night before surgery was sufficient. If you need an actual bowel prep (for the surgery or a colonoscopy), just make sure to get the drink and do it right (I think it is called COlyte). he was such a great guy - too bad you are not in canada. I found out about him on here!

she didnt make it sound like they were going to give me a proper bowel prep. i did woder about that. she said 'just make sure your bowels are ampty' something like that as if it were all up to me. i think she mentioned fruit also, so hmm ! i of course have another app before my lap so i guess they tell me further info then. i once had this chineese tea as a laxative, and oh gosh it was not a nice effect lol.

I have pain in my rectum and now the pain is in my crotch and down my legs. Even my buttocks have this unbearable feeling that is causing me anxiety. I feel like I can't relax. I read this post and now feel I may have endometrosis. The doctor said he has never heard of this type of sensation from hemerrhoids which is what I thought was causing the pain.
These symptoms started as numbness and tingling in my legs and slight pressure in my rectum - and now it has become seriously uncomfrtable. help :(

i am glad my post could help someone. too many obvious and common symptoms are not listed on the internet often enough. since i wrote this i have gotten much worse, it also cramps at the base of my skull now. tomorrow i have a lap to see ! if you feel like exchanging 'notes' please message me. will you be seeing a gynae ?? xx
