" Hi Jen,
I just wanted to say you're not alone and I know it doesn't help but it's been a year since my lap and I feel worse than ever.
And I certainly wasn't up and about in a few days, it felt like forever.
And now, I've just completed a 6 month course of zoladex which hasn't helped either so I feel worse now than when I had my lap a year ago last may. It took me ages to recover from it and due to everything thats followed my anxiety levels have gone through the roof also, I'm a complete wreck.
I wish I had some positive advice for you but I'm also going through the motions like yourself, trying to get back on top of everything. And it's hard. The endo docs don't really want to know so I'm left trying to fend for myself.
I wish things were better for you and the only thing I can say is try and take things day by day. It's so easy to say I know but it's the only way I can cope with things at the moment.
Always here for a chat, or if you just want to vent
Take care ok. Nads x x x "

" Hi Jen, I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling so unwell. Don't feel like you are different as I can remember having my lap a few years ago and I was a mess for a while. I was very anxious, I got a staph infection in my wounds and I had no energy for weeks and weeks. I felt like I had had a hysterectomy. I can remember lying on the couch all day and then going to school to collect the kids. Just getting off the couch and going some dishes would wear me out. I was very nervous about having the lap in the first place and I think you are sometimes given unrealistic expectations - a bit like when you have a C/section when you have a baby. I felt awful and sore for ages yet my sister in law bounced back so quickly. I think everyone is different. Also, I think that the anaesthetic can take weeks to completely leave your system which doesn't help. Try not to worry and be anxious - I know that if I had relaxed more, I probably would have felt better sooner. So, I would say you a 'normal' like the rest of us. Try to be kind to yourself and your body and take as much time as you need to get back to normal. If you need to chat, I am here. Take care. Andy "

" I'm sorry you are going through all of this. I experienced the same thing after 2 laps that were done by gynecologists who performed laser/ablation laps. I felt okay after the first one for awhile and worse after the second one. I was in tears as well because I was so frustrated! However, I found an Endometriosis specialist for the third lap and he actually knew what he was doing! I had Excision surgery and I have been pain free for a year now!

**hugs** "

" My MIL is a nurse and went through Lap for gallbladder last fall. It took her a good two weeks to get back to normal, even though she prepped and it was a fairly minor surgery. Everyone is different. You don't have to be an invalid, but taking it easy now will mean you get well faster.

*hugs* "

" i just want to say that it totally unrealistic to think after having major surgery that you are going to be fine afterwards within a week. that is just bloody rediculious. i had my last lap over a year and a half ago and i have not improved any. now drs are saying its in my liver witch fucken sucks the pain is the same as having damn surgery.
your body needs time to heal to be kind to it and have alot of bed rest. with the stitches they always look gross nothing really to worry about unless of course they start to weep like mine did.this is what we do sign up for when we have laps done.
try to keep your chin up and dont let your mind race away on you. maybe you need a couciller to talk to . "

" witchiepoo i think you took me a little wrong - i dont expect to feel better over night and the fact that they removed adhesions from my left hand side when all the pain etc was on the right makes me feel i prob wont feel loads better anyway !! What i meant was i didnt feel any better from the operation itself as in i still felt sick from the anesthetic i am still feeling very bruised and battered inside and struggling to walk very far etc. I have never had a laparoscopy before or any other operation come to think of it so i didnt know and still dont know what to expect !!!

Im not quite sure what i need a councillor for ? and yes my anxiety does run away with me however i do have general anxiety disorder so its kind of only to be expected really.
Im sorry if i was "bloody rediculous" and "unrealistic" but like i said i have never had this or any other operation before !!!! "

" Witchiepoo, A) a lot of docs will expect you to be "better" from a lap within a couple of weeks. B) maybe you should be more supportive and less accusatory with your posts. Honestly. "
