" its just your body adjusting ! hehe. diarreah usually follows constipation. and all the meds do this to our guts. you'll be back to normal before you know it xx "

" If you are constipated, it will end up as diarrhea when it finally gets going normally. Also, IBS is a chronic thing that people are diagnosed with after years of uncontrollable diarrhea, constipation or bowel problems, and it is just a name for a group of symptoms doctors cannot find another source for.

You need to accept that you had surgery, will be sore and are healing. Don't bother worrying every time you hiccup, go to the bathroom or feel a pain. Your body has been through a lot and I suspect you aren't having an easy time healing because you are spending 24/7 worrying 'what is this?' 'why is my body doing that'. All the gals on here mentioned you will get bowel symptoms post surgery, but if they continue to get worse or are worrisome, call the doctor ASAP. Otherwise, just try to relax and is there nothing you can do to distract yourself? Maybe magazines or TV? You need to stop stressing. "

" utah, very true about the ibs just being a symptom of a bigger picture. i believe fibromyalgia to be too. they are just excuses.. unless ibs is soley caused by wrong foods.
many ladies with endo say they have 'ibs' ( been diagnosed with it ) but endo is what they have that is causing bowel symptoms. doctors place too much emphasis on a iagnosis of 'ibs'
sorry for the vent :-D "

" i do agree but then that leaves me slightly confused because i have been told i dont have endo - i have had barium enema's and blood tests and xrays and scans and they still cant find anything ( other than the adhesions on my ovary they have just removed) so what would mine be then ? a food allergy or intolerance ? "

" oh true. but anything out of place in the abdomen can cause it. ( ie your adhesion ). a good way to find out is to eliminate wheat/yeast/ additives/preservatives/ dairy... even sugar. eat plenty prpotein and vegies. i did this for months. our bodies love this ! we werent made to process these things easily. i would give it a go. there are alternatives to pasta etx. rice pasta, buckwheat, soy milk, rice milk, oat milk. you can still have pancakes etc..buckwheat ones. " There is NO way they can confirm you have endo until they do the biopsy of the tissue removed. Even if it does not contain endo, the fact that you had adhesions indicates you might have had it at one time, or it is hidden.
I understand you want to feel great. But you won't for a week or so still. Every day will get better and being calm and positive helps.
In terms of nauseousness, it is sign of infection if it is very bad. Normally people are not nauseous after day 2 or so of healing (I get nauseous at everything and was not after surgery), but the doctors told me if I get very sick to my stomach to speak to them to ensure the incisions are healing correctly. You should call the doctor if it worsens, but if it doesn't, it could be the diet you are eating now or the constipation. "

" P.S. Diarrhea and nausea can also be caused by extreme anxiety (I get endless bowel problems when I am stressed) even if they are caused by endo/adhesions/or whatever.
I can literally sense the stress coming off the computer from you....can your doctor not prescribe you anything to calm down so you can heal until your post-op apt when you get more info? "

" i have not had a lap yet so i cant help you there.

but with ibs if your constipated you can then get diaherah, also if youre constipated sometimes liquid stool may seep around the hard stool (sounds horrible doesnt it) i read that on a site about ibs.

I was thought to have ibs, but now its thought to be endo. but i know my mum suffered with ibs but its now controled and doesnt bother her.

Did the drs say that what they found in your lap may be causing problems with your bowels atal?x "

" hi, Jen!

Hang in there! You can be proud of yorself for going ahead with the surgery, despite your fears. Well done!

As Utah said, There must be a reason for your adhesions. It may be endo that is hidden. Your biopsy should tell you more.

I hope you get your answers soon :) "
