Has anyone tried aromatase inhibitors as a treatment?? (trying to avoid lupron) doctor told me to think about this one.
have tried (many BCP, Mirena, surgery) pain has improved a lot through these things, but is gradually increasing since my surgery- and I want to stop the implants from growing before they get too big again!

" no i haven't heard of this but i will investigate b/c i too want to avoid lupron. im having surgery in the fall but then i will want to find something other than lupron if possible. thanks for the info. lori "

" Aromatase inhibitors have been used a lot more in europe than the US, but they DO work. Simple oophorectomy (ovary removal) also works the same way, but is permanent.

Femara and Arimidex are the most-commonly used for this. "

" i spent a year taking femara, which is an ai . . . .the side effects were pretty brutal for me, but i have been pain free for several years as a result of the treatment. in the long run, it was worth it. send me a message if you'd like more info. "
