Could everyone please tell me their personal experience with Lupron/side effects? I'm on more than this medication alone and I need to narrow it down a bit. Any replies would be appreciated. Thank you!!

" well with the first 3month shot (due for second one today) i've had horrible hot flashes, night sweats. The first week of having taken the shot i had really bad headaches that lasted all day. I'm having joint pain in my fingers and wrists, my nails are splitting, peeling and bending due to, i assume, calcium depletion. "

" hi, i hope you are doing well. there are some people who have had a positive experience with Lupron but i was not one of them. almost immediately i knew something was wrong inside my body. i had horrible hot flashes, mood swings, depression, anxiety, insomnia, bone and muscle aches. i feel like my bones are about to explode inside me and i had my last injection over 4 years ago. that drug took away something from me that i will never be able to get back. i feel like a complete different person, like a miserable shell of myself. i cry at everything even if i dont want to or mean to. i think it is a horrible way to try and fix something that these doctors know nothing about. i dont wish my experience on my worst enemy and if i can help one person to think twice about that stuff i will feel a little better about the hell i still deal with everyday from it. i wish you the best of luck and if you ever need to talk please drop me a line. " Thank you for your replies. I definitely have hot flashes, night sweats, terrible anxiety, mood swings, joint pain, weaker nails, insomnia, etc.. but that's nothing compared to how I felt before my surgery and going on Lupron. The only thing that really bothers me is the anxiety, but at the same time I feel more emotionally leveled... so I would take the anxiety for that... My biggest worry right now is what I'm going to be on after the Lupron, because the goal is to never let me have a period again... so we'll see. "

" Thanks everyone you just convinced me NOT to start this drug. My doctor wants me too instead of surgery but I have MS and am on many medications and don't need all these terrible side effects you speak of. "

" ALilCrazy --- I am especially sensitive to the side effects of drugs... and all of the side effects from Lupron are tolerable. Please don't decide not to try it because of the side effects... for me anyway, the pain from endometriosis is way worse. I don't know... just don't completely write it off because it's one of the best things to delay the endometriosis from returning and give your body a break. "

" Well I was told today to start lupron and I have read up on it before, I do not think I am going to. I just don't understand giving something like this to people. The effects sound very scary. I had to see another doc today because my doc will not be back till July. I think I may just wait till July and go back to see my doctor. The pain is already here what is two more months. I am so tired of all this I have been to three different doctors and no one gives me any relief. UGH! "

" Hi everyone I got my first dose of this shot back in march due for my next one in june. I am really debating if I should go for it or not. I have been really tired and stressed from it and the hot flashes and night sweats are driving me crazy. The only thing that really has been bothering me about is... that I second I am the happiest person alive then the next second I want to hit someone. I don't know what to do. My doctor doesn't know what else to do. I am looking for another doctor like at John Hopkins. I'm so confused. This sucks at age 21 and going threw this!!!!!!! Any help??? "

" I have my first shot 5 weeks ago and I've neva felt better, i also wear hrt patches to combat the side affects which seem to be working as I have very few complaints - none really. This treatment was my last option, I ve had 2 laps a marina coil, laser, zoladex etc with no improvement but and so far so gud. I was suffering with really bad sickness before and was worried the jabs would make it wors but it has gone completly, even my friends and family hav noticed how much happier I am. "
