I've tried the lupron injections for about 6 months last spring, and my most recent treatment for pain was birth control pills. I decided to stop taking the birth control pills because I was so done with the constant bleeding. I have constant pain and it seems to be getting progressively worse. I have a doctors appt. this Friday and I figured I would try depro provera. I'm curious if anyone has had good results with the depro provera or any other treatments I'm unaware of.
...... and what type of prescriptions other women are being prescribed for their pain?
Thanks for any info that might help. Up to this point I've had it with these treatments that seem to be just as bad as the endo itself. But I'm at a point where I can't take the pain anymore, and I'm sick of being a vegetable.

" If there are good enough surgeons where you are - you could ask about a Presacral neurectomy. They sever a nerve in your lower back during a lap that stops cramps. It doesn't ease the other endo symptoms (nausea, bowels, right sided or left sided pain), but if you hate horrible cramps for days on end, this surgery is for you probably!! Ask about it. "

" I never had a good response to progesterone (I had the pill form of Provera).

I think that looking at surgical options is your next step. If your Dr isn't open to that, it's time to look at finding a new one (IMO). A Lap can get rid of your pain without severing nerves, it could at least give you some pain relief.

Also look at diet/environment modification. I am/was in your shoes but am getting rapidly better because of changing my environment. Now that I'm changing my diet, I am feeling less fatigued too. So I definitely recommend it!!!

" I was put on depo provera before I even woke up from my second lap (Dr. thought it was my best option, never really asked me what I thought) but I have stayed on due to the fact that I don't know what else to try. Tried continuous BCP's but bled continuously. The depo has made me gain weight, and I have spotted constantly since being on it. My gyn/surgeon told me that it was first used as a treatment for endo, and that I could take it anytime I started bleeding (instead of using it every 3 months as BC). However, every person is different, and maybe it would be something that will work for you, just sharing my experience. Good luck! "
