Endo Pain Throughout the Month?

I'm new to endo so I've doing lots of research but almost all of what i find says the pain is during your period. My worst symptoms are during my period, but I have occasional low-level cramping and aches throughout the month - not to mention pain with ovulation. Do any of you have symptoms all the time and not just during your period?

i get symptoms all the time. I'm pretty sure majority of the ladies on here will say the same thing. i wish i only had pain during my period! haha. that would be nice. welcome to the forum

Thanks for the welcome. I haven't officially been diagnosed but my doc is almost positive that i have endo. my 1st lap is scheduled for thursday.

Yes! I never thought I had endo because of those stupid descriptions. I had horrible periods, but what bothered me more was the intense pain and cramping I would have when I didn't have my period. Good luck with your lap!

Yeah, I used to have bad periods (but not horrible), but my greatest pain just happened randomly throughout the cycle. Usually cyst related. It comes and goes. Advil is my friend.I once read a book on endo and thought my lord I don't have what those ladies have, but I had already had surgery to prove it. I guess it is slightly different for everyone.

i never got pain on my period..i got it all round ovulation and the 2 weeks before my period....the strange thing is my period is pain free.. endo is so strange and every women is different.....goodluck...and welcome!

The pain can come at any time. For me, the pain happens randomly but it drastically intensifies when I'm on my period. It's totally normal.

I as well have pain every single day. You are not alone :-) I take oxycontin and percocet daily, and even that is reaching the end of it's ability to really help me. I'd like to switch to mscontin (morphine) if my doctor will agree to it. He was ready to, took out the prescription pad and everything, and then changed his mind :-P I'm just having a lot of difficulty coping and being able to control the pain. I start physical therapy in September.
But enough about me. Yes, I and many many other women have pain every day or nearly every day. It sucks, but it's pretty common. Good luck to all of you ladies!

I get symptoms randomly all month long. It's much worse right before and during my period, but I can get cramps and fatigue any time. I also get left-sided pain a lot. At my lap, endo was removed from all around my left ovary, but judging by the way that region feels, I know it's back.
For the real bad stuff during your period, I have a suggestion. It's actually something I read here at DS awhile back. Taking vitamin E three days before your period starts, and then the first two days of your period can drastically reduce cramps. Vitamin E (the natural form, not the synthetic) reduces the body's production of prostalgandins, which are responsible for uterine contractions (causing cramps). It's a simple and natural way to help reduce period pains. I've been doing this routine for about 5 months now and notice it really has made a big difference! Purchase natural vitamin E (d-alpha tocopherol) and just take one a day. It absorbs best with fat, so take it with dinner or a bowl of ice cream (that's what I do) in the evening. My cycle starts late Tuesdays or early Wednesdays, so I start my vitamin E on the Sunday night before it's due. Just don't take the vitmain continuously all the time, it's not the best to take long-term like that. Of course, I should recommend you talk with your doctor to ensure taking it is safe for you specifically. Anyway, got a little off-track there, but I like to post my success story with vitamin E now and then to make sure others see it and look into it since it's a natural, non-medicated way to help with some of the monthly pain.
