Has anyone tried this and did it help much? It seems like a better option than Lupron....

" I am just starting the Provera myself. This is my second week and I am scared of the results. I don't want to gain any weight. Maybe we can let each other know what goes on with ourselves.

" My daughter has been on this for 5 years and it has worked well for her. She is 22 now. The only caution is to make sure you get bone density tests as it may cause osteoperosis.

Her first 6 mos were inconsistent for her body to get used to it, but then fine. "

" I have been on Depo for some time now. this time about 2 years. I have to say in my case it works very well,no periods for me = no pain, swelling and all the other problems of endo I would definately recomend giving it a try before lupron. my only issue is the weight gain which can be managed. hope that helps "

" I have been on depo for a year now, but I am getting off of it now. I hated how it makes me feel hungry all of the time. It drives me crazy. The first six months I was on it I gained 36 pounds, while eating healthy and exercising. I am still having a really hard time trying to lose it. I have been doing a physisian's based diet for 5 months, and have only lost 15 pounds while consuming less than a thousand cal's a day.
I just want to fit in my pants. "

" I was on DepoProvera for a couple of years when I was 16-18 and then again when I was 20. I was getting 375mg, every 6 weeks (highest dosage possible) Not only were the injections unbelievably painful, the injection site was painful for weeks afterwards (couldn't touch it at ALL). I suffered from SEVERE mood swings, depression and substantial weight gain. It helped for the time I was on it, but gradually quit working, and I ended up with a lap anyway. It is better than Lupron, merely because it does not put you in menopause. It took several years for it to work out my system completely and allow me to get pregnant. "

" I was on depo a couple of years ago I it worked great for me & I only gained 8 pounds. But after a year or so I felt no like me. I just didn't feel right so I got off it. For a year after that I was fine, have normal periods no problem. This past Christmas the endometriosis came back full force & than some. It really scared me. So I got back on the depo but it kind of helped. It slowed down my period but so far to date I have been on my period for 35 days & counting. I have to see a specialiest OBGYN. I even took some estrogen pills for 10 days but again did stop & the pain....horrible. I'm taking Vicondin every day for it. "

" ****WARNING**** Ladies PLEASE re-consider the depo-provera. It made my pains WORSE and its BIRTH CONTROLL nothing like lupron wich is made for endo!!!! There is a high risk with provera especially RAPID WEIGHT GAIN!!!! Please research befor you let your doctor decide what happens to YOUR body!!! "
