I have had endo for about 10 years. I just recently completed ivf with icsy. I am due for my pregnancy test this sat. However, i am concerned because i am still experiencing my normal discomforts prior to a menstral cycle. According to my normal cycle i would start my period on sat. Do the endo symptoms immediately go away with pregnancy??? Would i normally feel this discomfort if i am really pregnant?? I am very worried. Anyone who has had a child.... did you feel a noticable difference in your pre-menstrual discomforts when you found out you were pregnant??? I am taking progesterone injections and estrodol intravaginally.

every woman is DIFFERENT. some women have had a painful pregnancy while others were pain free. only you will find out if you are pregnant or not if your pain will stay or go away.

Best of luck I really hope you are!!
I was in immense pain during my pregnancy, but the first trimester I felt huge relief (besides the sharp twinges and aching feeling, but off and on....) Right at the start I was in more agony, but it eased into the trimester... Then went uncomfortable again :) I needed the progesterone shots the whole pregnancy, so I sympathise! I was a lot more moody (mainly teary) by breasts hurt and swelled more, and the cramps just irritated me more than usual befre we found out I was pregnant. But every woman has a different experience... Fingers crossed for you!!! ANY questions you have regarding the pregnancy the you think I can help with, just throw them my way!!! :)

Thanks for sharing your experience, Ruth. Just to clarify (although I know everyone is different), post ovulation, did you have the same endo pain leading up to when you would have had your period? Or was it absent the month you found out you were pregnant?
Nickleback - good luck!!! I hope you get good news :)

I've had 3 pregnancies (2 successful) and all 3 I was SURE I was just about to get my period any second. Every woman is different, as Sabby09 said - especially with pregnancies, it's hard to say what is 'normal' , but from my experience, I felt discomfort all the way through my pregnancies - my doctor explained it that because I had some adhesions, there may be some ripping and tearing as the uterus expands (that doesn't sound pretty does it? but it's true!)
Crossing my fingers for you!!!

I emailed some gals seperately (as I have been trying to avoid posting after my last bad experience on another forum) and explained that while pregnant, from week 6-12 my symptoms slowly decreased until by week 8-10 they were completely gone. My bowel symptoms, all my pain etc. I hope that answers your question.
I lost the baby at 12 weeks (not endo related) and have another question for all of you: However, I do wonder about this: I had tearing feelings (like adhesion pain with periods) in the beginning. Sort of sharp stabbing pains and it felt like everyone reassured me, uterine stretching. By week 8 I started to get a cramping feeling low down that would go on for 8-10 hours at a time. Everyone told me 'not to worry' it was normal ligament/stretching pain. I discovered my baby died at 8 weeks and from week 8-12 was when I had the low pain that felt like my period coming on. I assumed I was wrong to ignore this pain and it was the miscarriage causing the cramping feeling. It keeps my up at night wondering if I will ever know what was endo pain, what was normal pregnancy pain and what was miscarriage pain. I know I couldn't do anything, but I am SO UPSET I listened to people and books which said it was normal to feel cramps. Obviously it was not, since I got them from week 8 onwards, and I kept dreaming I was miscarrying because the pain was so bad at night (I didn't see my OBGYN until week 12, so they didn't find the miscarriage until then). Some of you say you had cramps all along? DId they last hours (10 hours at a time) or every day, or was it intermittent (like mine were at first)? We are trying again and this is upsetting me so much that I have no clue what is what and NO BOOKS explain it.

I should add that i had a 'missed abortion' which means my body did not recognize the miscarriage and so I had no bleeding or other signs and had to force the miscarriage once they told me...which was why I never went to the doc...EVERY book and person and health line I called said unless you bleed you are not miscarrying. Ugh.
I might post this as a question, since this ended up long.

Utah31, There is no doubt your experience was horrible - the only differences I can think of are cramping that starts suddenly, when there hasn't been cramping before, and the difference between light cramping and shooting pain - light cramping should dissipate when you change positions, or only last a little while, when it's constant or stabbing, then it requires a doctor's care. I had an ectopic pregnancy that 2 doctors dismissed as 'pregnancy cramping', so even doctors sometimes are wrong. These are just my thoughts.
Sending you hugs!

I know when I ovulated (we were NOT trying to concieve but I was told I could not fall pregnant anyway..) so yes pain before my "missed" period (I had not had one for 18months due to implanon) it felt like something was happening. A little different from my regular period, but bad enough for me to think that was what was coming!! The implant spotting I got I thought was my period trying to start, I only found out I was pregnant at 4weeks x
