Ive got a appoitment with a gynae in 3 weeks time, i was wondering if its a good idea to keep a food diary and a diary of how im feeling..pain levels etc. I get bowel problems with my pain..if im in a lot of pain i get bloated and may have loose bowel movements, when im fine everything else if fine.

Does anyone think this would be useful atal? ANy other advice would be appreciated, ive never seen a gynae before.

" my gp told me to keep a diary in general of how i feel. although it was nt very varied... almost every day i had the same things to write. although they did take the time to read it in the emergency at the hospital.
dont mean to be a bubble burster but many specialists ( are you seeing a specialist ? ) do not take the time to read diaries. and im thinking if you do write a food duary along with your symptoms she will then pass you on to a GI. becayse afterall many gynae's do not think there are many corelations between bowel probs and female probs.
this is my advice, go with what you feel. take it along and let her know what you have done ( write a diary ) she may request to see it, she may not...

" I think i might just, it might help me find out something about my pain aswell..i dont know.

Doesnt she? My dr who is like specalises more in womans problems said that there is a connection with womans problesm like endo and bowel problems, depending on where the endo is and hormones.

A food diary may also show that i dont eat much wheat/dairy..which i think you cut out in the endo diet? Ive done that before anyway for stomach problems and noticed no diffrence to pain. thanks for advice :D. xxx "

" I think it is a good idea to go prepared, but unfortunately it also depends on if the doctor is a good doctor. I have been to so many because of this stupid and debilitating disease. Some were absolutely clueless or uncaring! Good luck! **hugs** "
