hi justin,
im guessing that your wife hasnt been diagnosed yet. the only way to know 10 percent is to have a lap done. when it comes to the surgery it will help with her chances of concieving but remember that everytime she has a surgery more scar tissue many form and cause problems with fertility as well as more pain. also women are different some can go years without having another surgery and some can have 6 surgeries a year. i had surgery 6 months ago and my endo is back so yes it can and will progress if she dosent do anything for it. pain during sex is common soe feel it only during penetration and others during deep thrusts. im 18 and im facing a hysterectomy so endo is no joke lol good luck and btw heres an endo diet that may help your wife http://www.carolynchambersclark.co... -sabrina-

yip every woman is diff. some women have there 1st lap and never have endo back, some woman can have tons of laps and still have it. different things work for different women, where somethings may not work. its all trial and error with this disease.
having a lap is the only way to find out for sure. having surgeries can cause adhesions and the more surgery you have the more adhesions and dispite what some drs may think adhesions DO HURT. there are many different treatments available you can always look on here under treatment on this endo page and it is all there the side effects, success rates etc. if the dr ever puts your wife on any meds that she dosent feel right on you can alwys change the meds. remember we know our bodies better than the drs and if something doesnt feel right stop it. and return to your dr with why you have stopped it and list the side effects there maybe a sister drug that can be taken minus the side effects good luck to you and your wife xxxxx

I know for me and my boyfriend when we are intimate I have pain afterwards. My dr. recommended taking a pain med. ibuprofen 800mg before we have fun and certain positions help ease pain. also u need to get her to relax and not worry about pain or else she will tense up which won't help the situation. ur job is to arouse her best you can and elax her and be gentle.

Hi, Justin!
It is so refreshing to find a man visiting us to try to help his wife. She is one lucky lady. You are a really special guy, and an example other partners should follow. I salute you! :) As Sabby said, if your wife has not been diagnosed yet, it is important that she sees a specialist to check her out. It could be endo, or something else that may be causing her symptoms. It would be best to be sure. The only way to conclusively diagnose endometriosis is through laparoscopic surgery. this is when they make an incision in the belly-button, and insert a camera to get a look at what is going on inside. Further small incisions are made to insert the laser and other operating equipment. It is much less traumatic than a laparotomy, but still painful. Recovery time is about a week or 2, depending on how extensive the surgery is. Pregnancy is possible with endo, and it may even help. but it is not a guaranteed cure. endo can come back after pregnancy, and even after a hysterectomy. Each case is different. As far as intercourse goes, using a lubricant is a great idea. Also try different positions, to see what works best. Have fun with it :) Ibuprofen may help with pain. However, long-term frequent use can cause gastric ulcers. There are various treatments for endo and it's symptoms. It would help if you could tell us more about your wife's symptoms and any medical advice she has had, so that we can help you better. I wish you both well. God bless and take care! Love, Mich

Hi ladies!
I am the wife and yes I am EXTREMELY lucky to have my Justin! He is in the marines, which means we have military health care. To be honest with you, I have never had such horrible health care! The doctor has not been at all reassuring. She thinks its time to have suregery to see whats up. I am frusterated bc I have been dealing with these symptoms for quite some time. Before Justin deployed, I said if there was any possibility of surgery lets just do it now. That was less than three months ago. She should have just done it then and it irritates me taht now I am without my husband she is ready to try the surgery. Okay symtoms...Heavy period bleeding, (b.c. has helped a little with that), severe cramping, pain around belly button and always lower...especially by my ovaries. It can be really severe sometimes and I wont want to get out of bed. Often it makes me naseous (spelling ?). I get thigh cramps that are excrusiating. lower back cramps....fatigue...pain with urination....and also tummy problems like not being able to go #2 for a few days, or going too much! I dont know what it is for sure yet but after the doc mentioned what it might be I looked it up on like Web MD and had pretty much every symptom. Same with endo site...if its not this what else could it be? I dont want it to be endo...but an answer sure would be nice! lol Anyways, thanks so much its been great for him to get to know the facts and I just dont have the energy right now to try to explain it more to him...I dont want to think about some of the questions he has (sex, babies...) quite yet.
