I had a hyst for endo. It didn't work. Years later I've finally been diagnosed with 6 other conditions (which are endo related). Before you have a hyst rule out:
* Interstitial Cystitis * Pelvic Varicosity Pain Syndrome * Pelvic Floor Muscle Spasms * Vulvodynia * Irritable Bowel Syndrome * Hernias (Inguinal, Femoral, Ventral, Umbilical, Sciatic, Obturator, Perineal, Spigelian) * Trigonitis * Adhesions * Adenomyosis * Ovarian Remnant Syndrome * Adhesions from Pelvic Inflammatory Disease * Ovarian Cysts * Degenerating Uterine Fibroids * Muscular pain and Muscle Spasm * Trigger points * Pudendal Nerve Neuralgia * Retroverted (or Tilted) Uterus * Nerve Entrapments and Peripheral Neuropathies * Neuromas * Pelvic Girdle Malrotation * Pelvic Relaxation * Cervical or Endometrial Polyps * Colitis * Coccydynia (pain in the tailbone) * Clitorodynia (pain in the clitoris) * Myofascial pain * Fibromyalgia * Porphyria

Hiya,
I'm in your boat also. I think I want a hysto but in my heart after everything I've read, I don't think it would work and I would prob inadvertently cause more problems for myself in the long run. I'm just trying to take things one day at a time at the moment otherwise I tend to drive myself insane spending my time obsessing about things I can do to ease this damn disease when there's nothing I can do. All my love xx

You guys really need to learn about and try a PRE-SACRAL NEURECTOMY or LUNA before going the hysterectomy route I think. Honestly, it changed my pain levels by about 75% after having one done during a lap (they sever a nerve that stops all cramping). I still have gastro problems and back pain, but have not had cramps in the 7 months since surgery!!! ASK ABOUT IT PLEASE! I hate seeing you all in so much pain and no one had told me about nuerectomies until last year.....they can change your life!

Don't think a hysterectomy is a cure all for endo. There is a very small chance it will not come back. Just because a doctor says" well..You dont have anything left in you for it to grow again" is wrong. Be careful with what you want you may not like it. My cycles were every 2 weeks for 2 years and I tried it all to end it so my only choice left was a hysterectomy and I still feel like something was taken away and I will never get it back and forced into menopause early that is not a pleasurable time for me right now. I'm still going to dr's over all this. take your time and educate yourselves. Good Luck...xxx...Staci
