I was diagnosed with AVE in February 2009, and still have dreadful symptoms. I can't think the way I used to, my hands seem to belong to someone else, I forget how to answer my cellphone and what to do with food, I have terrible pain and my balance and proprioception is nonexistent! Please, can anyone offer some kind of advice or support? My family and friens are starting to shut me out and my employer and colleagues have no more faith in my once great ability to do my work. I am desperate, and don't know how long I will have the strengh to function in a world I do not understand anymore.

I juat found this site. Have been dealing with chronic illness for 4 years. My neuro says I'm describing mild encephalitis symptoms. I lost my 6 figure job after a yr and a half of suffering. Have been out of work since trying to find a Dr to cure me. Keep looking. At least you have a diagnosis. There are probably drugs the major universities will try on you.
