Headaches and EDS

I have horrible headaches a lot and most always have at least a small headache. It's been this way since I was around 10 or 11. I have seen headaches pop up a few times in what I have read so far in this group and am wondering if it's because of EDS.
I have taken all kinds of medicine for my headaches and nothing really works. Not even vicodin. Thats pretty bad in my mind, considering that vicodin kills pretty much any pain. I have complained about the headaches too many times to count to too many different doctors. Once, a doctor suggested migranes and told me to go see a neurologist, but all the others just shrugged and gave me allergy medicine or prescription ibuprophen (neither of those worked, by the way.) Does anyone else have this problem or know if it is one of the symptoms of EDS, particulary Hypermobility type? BTW, I don't think it's migranes because the headache symptoms dont quite fit migrane symptoms. Thanks!

" Yes...I was looking for info on EDS to pass on to my family doctor and I found this: "Headaches, especially migraine, are common, caused at least in part by cervical muscle tension and tempomandibular dysfunction".

The website is called Gene Reviews:
www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/bookshelf/br....

It's the most complete description of EDS type 3 that I've found so far. "

" Thank you for the information! I read it and it is very detailed. I appreciate you taking the time to post it! I found out something by reading this that I didn't know before- when I put pressure on my foot, there are little white bumps that pop out all over my heels. I always thought it was weird, but never knew what it was. Now I know it's EDS. How strange! Thanks again for the info! "

" Can you bring on HA with valsalva?

Hold your breath and lift something heavy, straining, coughing? set it off? HA worse in morning? Running?

Sometimes the connective tissue is so lax your head will sink down and compress your brainstem bringing on HA, neck pain, etc.
Our heads are a lot heavier than we think.

Just a thought... "

" Have u had an MRI of your head? Also I went to see and ENT and they sprayed some numbing meds up my nose and the headache was gone in five mins. I sent 3 yrs with awful headaches everyday because of a bone spur and impacted sinus and sinus collapse. Just keep looking until you find your answers. "

" I've had bad headaches and migraines since I was little and ever since being diagnosed with EDS type 3 have wondered as well if that might be the reason for having migraines/headaches "

" Yes, HA with EDS well documented.

Cranio cervical instability causing brainstem copression is the worst.

Also spinal problems can cause HA via pinched nerves, muscle spasm, etc. "
