Itching only at nights - help please

Hi everyone,

I was just diagnosed as having hydrisotic eczema yesterday, a week after being told by another doctor that I had scabies. As you can imagine, I'm tired of not knowing exactly what I have - especially when the two diagnoses are so different (and one is very contagious!)

My strangest symptom seems to be that my hands and feet ONLY itch at night. Has anyone with eczema experienced this? The itching is so bad it wakes me up.

The only physical sign I have are very tiny flesh-colored bumps in between my fingers.

Can anyone relate to this?

Thanks for your help!

" Yes, I sometimes get a different sort of eczema - dyshidrotic eczema. It itches a little during the day, but really drives me bananas at night. My son is the same with his eczema, mainly bothers him at night. "

" My eczema is similar but itches all of the time. I take Benedryl at night when its really bad. It helps enough to let me sleep, I don't know if its just because its an antihistimine or that it just knocks me out so completely. Either way it offers me some relief. "

" I have been diagnosed with this excema and I kept getting diagnosed with athleats foot because it was all over my feet not just by my toes. If it is just on your hands and feet I would say it is the eczema. The itching dosen't ever really go away and it gets alot worse at night then it is during the day unless I am sweating I do not itch. I would try some anti- itch cream but untill they get ride of the skin color bumps it will not even come close to getting better. Also if you squeze one of the bubbles and a puss like substance comes out of it then its eczema not scabies. Hope I could help caise this eczema is absolutly horrifying. "

" Hi there! I am new here and just wanted to share our story. Our son has had severe Eczema all over his whole body since he was a baby. WE FOUND WHAT WORKS!!!!!!

After going to many doctors, using many potent creams and meds with nothing helping him, we felt so frustrated. Our little boy was even steroid dependent bc the allergist kept increasing his doses of oral steroids. It was awful and we never ever slept for the first three yrs of his life.

Our family has had a miracle though that I am so passionate about sharing. We put him on an all natural, allergy free kids chewable probiotic called Bellyboost vy the makers of Vidazorb and it began working within a week or so. He was getting better very quickly and we could not believe it! People stop us all the time now in amazement at what a different child he looks like now. He is happy and healthy and we are so thankful fo rthis!

I have a mom blog with more details at smilinggreenmom.com and would love to share more with you. The community of mommies and daddies sharing info can be helpful in our quest for a cure from this! "

" I have not had a formal diagnosis, I just assumed it was eczema, didnt know that there were varieties. of it. after a bad flare of rashes, yeast, contact derm. and peri oral... all at once, and my skin was very itchy, my hands, and feet, not so much my feet that I thought it a problem, but I had to take antihstamines also for weeks around the clock. I drove my husband crazy at night he would shake me awake to stop me scratching. after most the the first outbreak of rashes started to settle down I used some cortisone on the flaky eczema on my forhead.. I also had some plums..(which I thought was the initial culprit... too much sugar or a chemical spray that didnt wash off), the next day, my face was covered with little flesh colored pimple-like bumps... and my lymph nodes were swollen, I also had a rash on my neck over the long band of lymph in the St. Chl. mastoid muscle. on top of that my eyes swelled up and I had a fat lip from being full of blisters... they felt like cold sores.. but the pain and itch went straight thru my lip .. from the outside to the inside... I used icy compresses and and oatmeal based cream to help with the itch, I quit eating everything I thought provoked it.. sugar, yeast, fruit. I stayed on yogurt, low sugar fruits.. sour berries, and probiotic... high levels of live bacteria... I also developed an orange tongue.. I have been told it is yeast and black hairy tongue.. hahaha.. but I couldnt figure out why that since I take good care of my teeth and usually eat healthy food.
There is the odd time that I start to get itchy again... but it is mostly from cleaning products.. I have had the rash on my forhead since August, now they are hard bumps that itch and wont go away, or sluff off with washing/scrubbing. they arent filled with anything.. and I did have the same little bumps between my fingers and on my forearms... those I thought was contact dermatits... maybe not... do any of you have a common thing that triggers these attacks.. maybe there is something I am missing.. I have been journalling for a while trying to track my health problems and I cant find the key thing...
I do plan to go for a check up and get a full blood work up. and anything else that might be a cause for rash outbreaks... I hope you are all doing well... I hope to be well one day too, before I am so old I cant enjoy life anymore. "

" Yes..always. I can go the whole day without scratching and itching, and then BAM it attacks me at night. I have found Aloe Vera Gel stops the itching and I can get a good nights sleep. Hope it helps you too. "
