Inexplicable flare-up

Hello. I'm a 34 year old guy who has a history of minor eczema apart from a bad spell a couple of times in my life. Recently my eczema has got substantially worse with no clear explanation. I have gone from having no eczema and using no medication to having persistant painful eczema sores and constantly medicating. The most distressing aspect is that for the first time in my life it is all over my face, ears and neck and the itch is so intense at night that I can't sleep properly and keep scratching in my sleep. It is obviously affecting my job as I am customer-facing at work. The doctors are clueless as to a cause. Has anybody had a similar experience? How did you deal with it and did you ever establish a cause?

" i cant say that i know exactly one cause - i know that when its damp and cold my eczmea flares up, when ive been partying ive dug big holes in my arms without realising, when i eat too much dairy my skin is bad and a number of other things too. i guess your health is so individual everyones chemistry is unique and no case is ever exactly the same but has similarities and you just got to explore all the possibilities and try new things. Sorry its affecting your work. if your itching badly at night, have a bath before you go to bed have an atihistamine and make sure your bed is dry clean and warm, "
