I am new to this so sorry if I explode on you all. I cant take it anymore. It hurts so bad, its itchy, I dont go anywhere cause I look like a freak. Just need to cry but even that hurts. I have Eczema on my face so bad I took 6 tablets this morning alone. The anxiety its creating by trying not to touch my face makes me unbearable to be around let alone look after four kids who want to do stuff but I cant let them cause I cant be there or do it. Feel alone. Feel like a bad mum. Husband understands but who wants to wake up to a person who looks like this.

Sorry I just cant take much more. Drugs dont work, cream doesnt work, I know my diet needs improving but for all this gluten free, wheat free is expensive and I cant afford it. Crying now and hurts even more.

" HI mummyzjsa,

I'm from Sydney too. I don't know from personal experience how you feel, but I know what it was like looking after my son. At one stage his eczema was so bad that his skin was oozing and I couldn't pick up unless he was wrapped in bandages.

You've really got to tackle it head on. We spent a year or so turning our lives upside down, but eventually things really did improve.

Have you always had eczema, what are you allergic too?

We never use airfresheners or chemicals in the home. I mop with hot water and eucalyptus oil, I wash dishes with a sensitive skin liquid. I wash clothes and linen in sensitive skin powder (when it was very bad, we used pure soap flakes). All my hair, body products are as natural as possible. The personal care products are a little more expensive but it balances out against how cheap vinegar and eucalyptus oil is. I also use baking soda to clean. You can search online for natural cleaning alternatives.

Anyway my son is driving me bonkers now jumping on my lap, so I'd better go.
KC

We also got our son in to the RPA for allergy test. We had to wait 6 months for the first appointment.YOu might have to wait longer as you are an adult.

Its really not so expensive to go gluten free. We don't use specialised products, we just eat very simply - rice, meat, veg. We are OK with wheat/gluten but my son is allergic o a billion other things and if we always got the specialised products we'd be broke. "

" mummyzjsa !!

Do you have the financial to fly to malaysia for treatment??
But this will take minimum 4months to 2years to cure...
but its a steroid free treatment.
Its using blood toxin detox...
I'm going through this treatment myself, and still waiting...
I'm currently on my 3rd month and already seen lots of improvement...

I've write up on the method of treatment.
It claims that our skin disease is caused by toxin in the blood which pile up near the skin area.. causing our antibody to react to it..
therefore we feel so much itch.
STEROID cream is REALLY BAD!
all it does is suspress ur toxin near the surface of the skin and embed it into deeper level of the skin, giving temporary fake cure for our skin!
When after several months later, it get worst! and we have to apply even stronger does of steroid to the level where steroid cream doesnt work anymore, like your case, n mine!!

please read more information on this website:

my case study so far:

if you have the financial, please come to malaysia.
I can show you the treatment centre... "

" When you get to the point of crying all day, it's important to not slip into the "nothing works" frame of mind.

You gotta shape up. You gotta remember that you have a daughter and you have a husband to live for, to be strong for. Yes. It hurts. Yes, it itches. Yeah, sometimes, all you want to do is curl up alone and just cry because showers sting like bees and the itching keeps you up at night and the worry that your husband will stop loving you and that all your daughter will remember of her mom growing up was her curled on the couch hiding away from the world. Sometimes, the scratching gets so bad, you get infections. Sometimes, you have scars leftover from those infections. sometimes, it's just so heartbreaking when you wake up and open your eyes and realize that you're still you, still itchy, still hideous.

Yeah. That hurts.

But you have to be strong. You have to be. You've got strength inside you and you just need to find that strength to keep going. You need to find your vices.

You need to keep trying various treatments. Keep fighting with improving that diet. Because, you deserve to be happy. And so does your family.

If creams you've used in the past don't work, okay. Try other creams. If antihistamine's don't work. Okay. Let's try something up.

You can cry any time you want, but chin up, cherie. Have faith, cherie. It won't be easy, but if you can keep your psychological well-being healthy, then you can overcome this.

You -can- over come this.

Because you're strong.

Don't ever believe otherwise. "

" Try going to natural foods - like fruits and vegetables. Avoid process foods. I have found this diet to be extremely helpful and actually cheaper than processed foods - which are bad for you!

I have gone through a detox diet which has been extremely helpful - though it does cost some money to purchase the supplements. Though you need to think of the quality of life you are seeking and see if you can adjust your budget in other ways. Your health is extremely important!

Good luck "

" Sorry you are having so much trouble with the excema & nothing seems to work. It is ok to feel sorry for yourself & bad occasionaly but dont let it rule your life.
I have also changed a lot of our cleaning & we use household vinegar mixed with water. It is real cheap & what the council workers will use (environmentally friendly etc).
I have not gone gluten/wheat free as tried it & didnt help me much. We eat very basic, plenty of vegetables, fruit, meat & other stuff.
One ointment I found that worked well & is not a steroid is "Ungvita". It is actually a nappy rash ointment from the chemist, smells fishy but is soothing esp on open sores.
I have tried the aloe for a long time & drinking it helped a bit.
The other thing i have found (also old fashioned) is to drink fluid magnesium. Again you buy that from the chemist & they may need to get it in for you. This actually works inside your body cooling the blood down which is why it is so itchy.
My Mum had me on the ungvita & fluid magnesioum from when I was a kid & when I get bad I go back to them, they are not instantaneous but I have found they do provide relief without major expense too.

Your hubby sounds like a good support, dont be afraid to go out & do things with him & your kids even with excema. Life is to short to let it stop u enjoying your family. Your kids will remember time spent with them regardless of how you look, I have found if I dont make a big deal about it most people ignore it.
You have got lots of good advice here so I hope it helps.
You have come to the right place to vent too. I am in Melbourne so know what its like esp with summer coming too. YUK
Take care of yourself. "
