Hi...is anyone supplementing evening primrose oil and/or flaxseed oil into their diet? If so, how much and how often?

" I take evening primrose oil, 3 x 1000mg a day, have been taking it for years & it sure makes a difference to my skin by keeping it better moisturised. When I am having bad flare of excema I increase it up to 3 tablets 2 times a day (6 x 1000mg in a day), & this helps it heal quicker too. I know when I have missed it as my skin dries out heaps more.
I dont take flaxseed but I do take omega 3, havent noticed it helping excema but I take it to try to help memory etc.
Hope this helps you. If you have a bad spot/patch of excema you can break open a capsule & apply it on to your skin & that helps too.

" Thank you AusSue for your prompt reply to my post. Unfortuntely, I spoke to my naturopath and he suggested that I do not add EPO to my diet right now. He has me on a diet free of gluten, wheat, corn, soy, diary and sugar. Also, I am on a probiotic, enzymes, detox pill for my liver and kidneys and also on an anti-fungal. It has helped me a great deal. I am new to eczema as my first outbreak began about 5 months ago. I have read great things about EPO but I'm afraid to disregard his suggestion as what he has suggested so far has worked.
