The Sun

In good old England, the sun has finally appeared and my skin has got so much worse.

Its so crap because its hot i have to wear clothes that show my skin which i find so embarrassing. If i wear clothes that cover me up i go all sweaty, and my skin gets worse, its a no win situation.

I just wondered what other peoples experiences are?

Does your skin get better in the sun or worse?

" Hi Lori,

I have pretty severe excema on my legs and a bit on the back of my arms. I've tried just about everything. I tried photo-therapy which is infrared light which kind of mimics the sun. Many have had success with it, but for me it seemed to cause more irritation with redness, bumps and itching. I tried it for about 3 months and gave it a chance before giving up on that process.

I totally agree how frustrating it is to have to feel embarrassed to wear shorts. Especially being a person like myself who used to live in my shorts. Now I seem to wear athletic cotton workout pants where ever I go.

I haven't laid out in the sun yet to get a full enough exposure to really tell how the natural sun will react. I have a feeling it will yield the same result as the photo-therapy I had.

I sure wish they would come up with a cure for this stuff...
It drives me nuts scratching all the time.

Please let me know if you find anything that helps you. "

" i find the sun gd for my skin but if i wear layers and my skin sweats alot then my skin gets worse, i can def relate to not wanting to show off my bad skin, i use to have it really bad on my legs and i wouldnt wear anything that showed my my legs or arms and then i kinda one day went fuck it, i dont care what ppl think and if anyone said anything they are just wankers and they aint worth talkin to, maybe the sun may be bad though so i dunno i just know the sun and air works wonders for me "

" For me, the sun and swimming help my eczema a lot. I don't know if its the combination of both. I used to use a tanning bed and that helped a lot but I am so scared of skin cancer I stopped. So now I cover up w/ sunscreen and swim. My eczema is usually really good in the summer. I've also heard that vitamin D is good for eczema too so maybe my skin likes the vitamin D from the sun. Who knows? It sucks because eczema is so different from person to person. "
