" I'm brand new to this site, and don't have severe eczema, but I've known I have eczema for 20 years or more, so maybe what I've learned could help you some. I found several big things that helped me, they may work for you, and if not, look for other solutions, become a detective. I took years finding answers on my own, wish I had this site to speed it up before this.

I found caffeine made my eczema more itchy, and sugar too, but not as much. I found that vaccuuming my mattress and pillow stopped a lot of itching, and that helped my eczema bother me less. (I don't understand that.)

I found that you need to write down all the spots and symptoms, and take them to your doctor appointments, because there are various problems, not just one, so what works on some or most of your spots may not work on them all. (Like, I have 2 Rxs that are each for only one spot.)

Here's a simple, important thing to know- many good creams don't add moisture, they hold in moisture, so need to be applied to moist skin.

I'm excited about reading here on DS that ditching my Tide Free might help. That might help you, too.

You and I will find a lot of good ideas from others at DS. I can see already that this is group of people will help us a lot, and we will help others in turn. "

" Sorry you have this & also that you have to wait 2 weeks to get into the dr. Sugar & sweet foods certainly can make excema more itchy & also get more xcema too. There are a lot of different creams around but try to get an ointment as that has more actual moisture value - even though it may be sticky. Often a health food shop or chemist/pharmacy will be able to help you with ointments. We have a very good ointment here called ungvita - its reccomended for nappy rash & is fish based, it works really well esp if you it on & cover it for a little while so it sweats into the skin (I put glad wrap - plastic) over it till it soaks in. It eases the itch as well as moisturising so helping it to heal.
Hope this helps. "
