Advice:
Applying Eucerin too much?

I just want to know if it's possible to apply the lotion too often. It says twice a day, but it gets dry in between so I keep on slathering on more. I just started using it 2 nights ago and I'm praying this works, but I want to make sure I'm doing it correctly for best results.

" My doc told me to use the over the counter Eucerin after every time I get my hands wet. He says keep it on pretty much constantly. I'm using that to counteract the overly drying steroid cream that I use twice a day. Hope this helps! "

" I doubt it. I personally like their calming creme.

If you need something stronger, switch to Aquaphor. My dermatologist recommended using it as much as i need it to combat the dryness and it works wonderfully. It even works well as a lip balm. The only drawback is that it's on the greasy side on lotions and you might not want the shine if you plan to go out in public. "

" Have you considered that dryness is also an internal thing? More oils like cold pressed olive oil, flaxseed or cod liver oil taken will often help when used for a few months in your diet. Also i don't think you can use too much moisterizers. Eucerene has no steriods or drug factors in it so you can use it all the time, The Aquaphor is great stuff too. the ultimate stuff I have found most helpfull is this stuff called "Skin Food" by Weleda, it seems to retain moisture better than anything else I have ever tired. Let me know your progress. "

" Let me tell you something about eucerin and those types of creams (cetaphil). They contain petroleum or mineral oil as their main ingredient. Petroleum DOES NOT moisturize your skin-- it is a surface barrier that coats and blocks the skin. Thats why your skin still gets dry inbetween!! You need to use lotions with natural plant oils because they contain vitamins and will actually sink into the skin and hydrate the cells. A company called Lavish makes the best lotions for eczema. It's called eczema Rx. I will give you the link-- you definitely need to check it out. Good luck, I hope I helped.

" Euzerin has parabens in it, which I would always keep far away from my skin. I would always use natural organic moisturizers such as Weleda products or the 'letting go' lotion from little moon essentials. These products are rich and soothing. And I do not think that you can every apply too much moisturizer. Another good thing is to always apply any cream or lotion on damp skin. I also mix my own oils and before I apply these I always sprits some spring water on my skin. That looks in the moisture and puts those much needes oils back into our skin. All the best, Anja. "

" I've been using Sarna lotion on the real itchy spots. It cools a little (menthol and camphor) and I like it. For moisturizing I use Jergens UltraHealing lotion, because its not very greasy feeling, but moisturizes well. On my feet or if I have scaly or cracked areas I use Curel UltraHealing - I like it a lot. "

" Oh, back to your question, no I don't think you can apply too much moisturizer, as long as it's not medicated. As far as the Sarna lotion, which is somewhat medicated, they list some limit like up to 4 times per day or so. I have not had the time to put it on more than that, so no problem there. "

" Hi I just wanted to let you know that I've give a friend of mine Arbonne baby care wash, baby oil, and the baby lotion for her eczema and it's WORKING!!! We're nurses who work at a nursing home and I've always noticed her hands, how dry, cracked, swollen, and her limited movement, she also claims it hurts and having to wash her hands all the time doesn't help. She tried the Arbonne baby line for a week and it's HELPING. I'm so happy for her. It helps with the eczema because it's mild, gentle non-irritating, and helps with redness and itching. Check out the site vegan4animals.myarbonne.com you can have it mailed right to your house. If you want to talk more feel free to email me. I hope I can help you too. "

" I looove Eucerin lotion... I've been using it literally forever like a thousand times a day (not really, but alot) and its awesome. Now that I'm older I only apply it once a day after my shower though... But if I did need it I would use it.. I think its fine =) "
