*GOAL FOR TODAY*

My goal for today which is posted on my profile is to not binge for an entire day. Regardless of my thoughts and urges....I can't do it. I cannot keep gaining weight - I'm at an unhealthy weight right now and adding more weight will cause me more health complications (i.e. type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure). I need to be okay....this can't keep happening.... I'm trying soooo hard not to be like this anymore. I had a good handle on it for about a month and then shit hit the fan.... Will I ever get over this?

Too bad I can't just not eat. I wish I could just drink an ensure 1x a day and I'd be fine. It's different than being an alcoholic because you don't need alcohol to survive. You need food to survive and unfortunatly like many if not all people on this support group, we have a horrible relationship with food.
Ugh.

But today is a new day....

TODAY (11/6) I WILL NOT BINGE.

" Me neither! Let's do this together. And let's be especially kind and gentle to ourselves.

Everytime the binging (and the bulimia, for me) enters our thoughts and desires, let's repeat to ourselves something like : kindness today, not binging, not purging, just kindness and respect for all that our delicate bodies have suffered

Hugs to you! "

" It's still Thursday for me but I'm in for tomorrow! I really like the thing about kindness. I need more comfort and gentleness in my life so this is great.

Ok, this sounds strange but I used to get down on my body all the time and say I felt like a cow, a whale, etc. It would get me all upset and it upset my BF too, so one day he said, that's it. If I felt the need to compare my body to any sort of animal, I had to say I felt like a bumblebee. That helped me so much with the negative feelings. I mean, a bumblebee IS kind of round, but it doesn't have the same negative connotation as those other words. I now buy things with bumblebees on them as a reminder to stay positive about my body. It's my own little symbol of recovery.

Wow, that was random. I just remembered it so I thought I'd share. :) "

" So far so good. I've portioned out my food and will think of being kind to my body by not abusing it! The day is almost half way over, we can do this!

My real test will be tonight - It's my worst time.... and when I tend to ruin it. "

" Can you plan something for tonight to keep yourself busy? A movie, out with a friend, the gym, getting your nails done, going to the bookstore and then getting a coffee, whatever makes you happy and keeps you from being alone. "

" oh, also, did you portion out a dinner that has enough food, esp. protein in it? That should help keep you full throughout the evening. My meal plan has an evening snack built in b/c this is a trouble time for me, too, and knowing I can have a snack helps get me through. You could try this, as long as it doesn't trigger you to want to eat more. (I eat something healthy and in a finite portion, like fruit, or a yogurt, or a frozen fruit bar - just NOT something I can keep nibbling on like dry cereal or crackers.)

You can do it! "
