My ED behaviors have gotten worse lately and I'm so scared my almost 3 year old daughter is going to pick up on it! Although I b/p during her nap time, I know this needs to change. I have an evaluation scheduled for Nov. 9th to go inpatient and my therapist is on board. I believe full recovery is possible and I want to take an honest shot at it instead of "maintaining" my eating disorder. I guess I'm looking for encouragement so that I don't change my mind between now and my appointment. It's so embarrassing to have to do this at the age of 38! I don't want to admit I'm struggling or have my parents watch my daughter while I go away for a week or so. Has anyone had to go for treatment and leave their kids before?

" Hello. I know how you feel. I am a mother of 3. I have been inpatient many times and my husband has been with the kids. We always told them that I was away on a busniess trip. I would get into treatment and miss my family too much and would sign myself out. I do not recommend that. Go into treatment and make it work. Yes it is going to be hard leaving your little one. She is still little and probably will not remember that you left. I always said to myself that my kids never picked up on anything but they do. Even if you think they dont. There are still signs there. I am here if you need to talk. Hang in there and I hope everything works out for you. "

" I am a mother to 3 also... my ED is over eating and binging... for years all I ate was candy and junk food, oh and cheese...

I changed my life and my kids eat so much better than me.... but my daughter is like me. she would live on cheese and junk. ts taken a few years of emphasizing that veggies are important, without harping on it.

I truly think I have changed the obesity cycle in my family !!! you can influence your kids so please get help !!!!!

there is NO way you wont affect your kids... all addicts do. "

" Don't be ashamed. I went inpatient at the age of 45, and my kids were a lot older. Should have done it long ago, but just remember, "if you don't do it now you'll be another year older when you do" - Warren Miller "

" I have 2 children, and there is no better time then now... I was 35 the first time I went to treatment, it needed to be done, its hard, but the outcome is worth it.... Do it for you and your daughter....
You both are worth it... "
