" Hi there, I think where are loved ones are concerned it's best that we tell them not to make comments. Positive or negative. I've tried to have my husband help me with binge eating and suggested he say something gentle to me when it looks like I am bingeing or beginning to binge or at a party with way too much food. He would come up and say "Don't do anything that will make you feel bad tomorrow" or "Are you okay right now?" or something lke that and I wanted to punch him in the face! And then when he wouldn't say anything and buy cookies or ice cream and have it in the house I felt he was trying to sabotage me. Or else he would say "you look great" when I felt like shit. So for me it's best that that subject stay out of our conversations and I have to make sure that I work on it for me and by myself. Any comments are triggers for me. That way I am responsible for me. We can read into any comment, and take it in a good way or a bad way, but bottom line is that we are responsible for our own bodies and we ultimately are the ones who make them what they are. "
