Advice:
What should I do? Am I anorexic?

I'm a 12 year old girl, 5 feet tall and 80 pounds.
I think I may be anorexic.
I starve myself, sometimes exercise excessively. I'm always cold, and dizzy, and I have a loss in energy. You can see my ribs even when I don't suck in. My hip bones stick out a little. Yet when I look in the mirror, I see a fat girl.

I've never been like this. I've always been like "wow, I'm glad I'll never be anorexic because I'm too smart to be swayed by the media". Well, I guess i was wrong...

I'm scared, because I don't want to die from something like this. But it's so hard to ask for help because I feel like in doing that I'll gain weight.

Help?

" ok you are young, but i will try and explain this to you.. it not the media. if it was the media we would ALL be anorexic.

Anorexics dont know how to deal with unhappy feelings, like stress or anxiety... sometimes feeling of failure... or control... sometimes when a person ant deal with those feeligs they FOCUS REAL HARD on something else... sometimes its easier than feeling our real feelings...

its very early and you are very young... you need to get help ASAP or this could be with you forever !!!!! please please please think abut telling someone you trust...

i have a 10 yr old and i would want to know.... "

" I agree. You need to talk to somebody. Find an adult you trust like a teacher or even better, your doctor. Your parents should be the first ones but I understand that that can be very difficult and my even be contributing to the problem.

The point is to get help now. Eventually, somebody is going to figure it out and in my experience will try to take control of your decisions. If you are anything like a typical preteen or teen then your immediate reaction is to rebel and fight back.

If you are the one to seek help then the ball is in your court. People, your parents, will see that you are being responsible and trying to help yourself. "
