Does anyone else notice their dystonia getting worse with drastic changes in the weather? The weather here changed quite a bit over night and I'm not doing so good this morning, actually it has been creeping up on me over the last couple of days, but very noticeable today. The only other thing I can think of is maybe this medication I'm on now is not agreeing with me. I'm taking Artane, anyone else have a problem with it?

" My neurologist told me that weather does not affect dystonia. Stress is what can make your symptons worse. "

" Artane didn't work well for me, but my doctor was an idiot and gave me to much, maybe the dosage needs to be adjusted. I honestly don't know what can make this crazy disease worse, I think it has a mind of it's own. Unfortunately it has chosen to invade our brains.
Maybe you should call your doctor, and ask about the dosage of Artane. "

" It affects me also Scotti. I am on artane. It does help though the dosage had to be increased after a month on it. "

" Hi ,
my neurologist told me that photosensitivity does not fit although I react badly to bright lights and wearing dark glasses reduces the need for extra meds. In my opinion they dont know everything and I am better on overcast days than bright days. You know your own body and in my opinion neurologists have a lot to learn about this condition. We need to educate them in what affects us and things that make it better. Neurologists need to learn to listen. "
