Has anyone had any success with Omega 3 capsules? My son has been taking 2 a day for about 7 weeks now. We thought we would give it a try to see if their is any improvement in him. We are going to stick at it for the full 3 months then review it. If you could let me know of any changes even slight in your children that would really help.

Hiya, I am a vegetarian dyspraxic so was wondering if something like flaxseed oil would have a similar effect? Or any other vegetarian alternatives?

Hello, I'm hew here. Forgive me for just popping in. My son is 6 with verbal dyspraxia. I've started him on Omegas but only 1 a day. Is this enough? Is it safe for me to give him more and what is the safe dose? Thank you for your thoughts!

FYI: I am still taking the NOW brand Super Omega 3 - 6 - 9 capsules (6 per day, 3 in the morning & 3 at night) every single day without skipping doses as best I can.
I continue to show more improvement, as long as I keep taking them. In terms of dosage the key for me is to take it consistently. For the record I weigh 190 lbs and have a body fat of approx. 23%. TAMMY ~ I mention this so you can run a comparative analysis with yourself or child in terms of dosage & then see what works for them based on changes you see. It's important to keep in mind body fat because supplements absorbed into fat do nothing for our bodies, the uptake needs to be in our blood and muscles hold the most blood. * Sorry ghotifish but vegetarianism robs the body of many key elements that support brain health. This may sound harsh, though in my humble opinion you're not going to get near the results from anything other than pure 100% fish oil as at least part of the solution. FYI: the Omega capsules I take include a balance formulation of Omega 3 from mackerel, Omega 6 from Flax & Omega 9 from Borage oil. Our bodies need large amounts of protein to achieve optimum health. Unfortunately there are a great number of myths about sources of protein in the Western world that do more harm than good ~ chief among these myths is that soy is a good source of protein. Soy is actually detrimental to health when eaten raw (unfermented) and also boosts estrogen production which is really bad for men. Children have died when parents have switched them to purely soy products and no protein from other sources.

Omega-3s do work. But they need help. I went to www.apraxiaresearch.com and found a company that has patented a unique formula of Omega-3s and vitamins E and K which act as a catalyst and my son has shown much more dramatic transformation. The product is called speak and they were offereing a free trial to see if worked for you. It has definitely worked for me!

Thanks for sharing the link to the SPEAK supplement. I checked the ingredients and it appears I already take the same amounts (though less inexpensively). http://www.speechnutrients.com/ima... Vitamin E, Vitamin K (Potasssium), EPA, GLA plus with what I take I also get DHA which is the main fat for brain function (which is the stronger fat for use in the creation of cell membranes in both our brains and eyes) Of course it would be much easier to simply take one capsule rather than several separate supplements. Good to hear your son is doing well!
