My 19 yr.old son has begun receiving speech therapy for his apraxia this year. He was just diagnosed with it as well as dyspraxia at the beginning of 2008. He has a lot of problems with his rhythm and this really affects his guitar playing. I am looking for the right kind of therapist for him. I don't know if that is an O.T. or a P.T. Does anyone have any info on who I should be looking for?

OT's generally deal with the hands or fine motor movements and activities. PT's generally deal with gross motor activities. So if the guitar playing is the thing you want to target, I would go for OT. But your pediatrician should be able to help and/or make the referral. How old is your son?
