I am Dyslexic, and I have a major problem with reading. From what you say it doesn't sound like you have a reading problem. I always thought the major sign of dyslexia was a difficulty with reading as well as spelling, writing problems and a few other problems too. It is thought that a deformity in the brain causes this. However since I have been reading postings on this sight, it seems there are a few others who only have spelling and writing problems. Maybe someone who knows more on this can clear it up. If you only have a writing and spelling problem be thankful. There are many aids out there to help you e.g. Dragon naturally speaking, spell check etc

my son is 15 and severe dyslexic. here in canada the school system doesnt believe there is such a thing..it was a long fight to have them recognize his dyslexia. they said he was ADD. I went to the dr and he was put on ritalian... it did abolutley nothing ... i finally said no more drugs and took him to a private tutoring class that deals specifcally with dyslexia. It helped him tremendously but we still have alot of thing to work at. He uses dragon naturally speaking and a laptop in all of his classes. He also does all of his testing orally and when it comes to exams they provide him with a scribe ( someone to write things down for him) Since all of this he has surpassed more then half of the kids in his classes. There are about 37 symptoms to dyslexia and u could possibly have any combination of these. here is a site u can take a look at i hope it helps http://www.dyslexia.com/library/sy...

I was unable to get to the link... but was diagnosed w/dyslexia as an adult... he told me that stress made it worse...
I usually call it stress related dyslexia.. don't think that's a prober term... It was a struggle in school for me... my problem is i have lazy eye.. and when my eye turns off and comes back on it caused me to see things all messedup...thus dyslexia... i did reverse numbers in elementry school... but was not tested... don't think it was that known in the late 50's early 60's... i didn't show enougth of the symptoms i guess Good luck
