Hi there, my eyes do get blurry too. If I read for a while it can last for hours afterwards. When the tears arent there, It affects the light refraction so things will be distorted, driving at night is still a problem for me, the oncomming lights are horrible. also driving at night when it is raining. Anyway, my dr put me on steroid drops as well as the lubricant ones, I am using Genteal Gel drops and long lasting "Tears Naturale Forte" by Alcon. he wanted me to use another brand that had no preservatives, as they will cause irritation. I will probably have to have plugs put into my tear duct holes.. as the drops go in then minutes later down my throat. nasty. So if the drops arent helping you may have some inflamation happening because of the abrasion on the cornea. mine is so bad in the morning I can hardly open my eyelids.. like sandpaper. And My mom had it so bad years ago it ruptures the lining over her eyeball, then had to have it peeled like a grape. It was frozen at the time though then she had to put in ointment and wear patches. thankfully it only happened to one eye at a time.
The massaging I have read about, I dont remember exactly what it is for unless you have blepharitis,, which is an inflamation of the eyelash follicles, and it causes swelling, little mites cause the problem and it is like having psoriasis on your eyelids. That is what I thought I had for a while, cause I kept feeling grit inside my eyes, like broken eyelashes. The compresses and massage are important, I think there is also an ointment you need to use if that is what you have. Google Severe Dry Eye syndrome, or Blepheritis (sp?) it will tell you quite a bit about both. I was also told to take Omega oils... 3 and 6, I only use the 3, since it is an antiinflamitory as well, and taking the 6's with it has been discovered to negate the effect of the 3's. I hope you get relief soon. take care.. Rachel

The massage method is also used for dry eye in general. I was also told to massage the lower lid for blocked tear ducts to open it all up. I have developed very bad blurry vision in both eyes due to dryness, as well as light sensitivity. The massaging doesn't seem to make alot of difference for me. At first it was just reading but now I also get it in general. It is very annoying and I feel your pain.

Yes, the blurriness is really bothersome; especially in brightly lighted areas such as a department store. I have been using prescription fresh kote eye drops and they are really helping.
