Dry Eyes Support Group

I highly recommend Dr. Latkany's book to anyone suffering from dry eye - whether newly diagnosed or with a longstanding condition. It's an easy, very readable book but does a terrific job of getting to the heart of the matter and covers in depth some extremely important points that a great many ophthalmologists never bring up with their patients, such as the frequent role of meibomian gland dysfunction in dry eye (that's the oil glands that are supposed to slow tear evaporation) and poor eyelid closure at night. The book is full of very practical advice about what you can do for more dry eye relief and prevention, including a nightly eyelid care regimen that I believe everyone with dry eye should follow. It also covers all the 'usual suspects' like Restasis, plugs, and new scientific developments.
