Megan and I have had such a wonderful couple of weeks that I just wanted to share it with some friends that I know could relate. Her speech is coming along so well that the fustration level in our home has dramatically decreased. We went on a major food shopping trip and for the first time I can honestly say that I truely enjoyed it. She was such a pleasure. She stayed with me every step, we went to the bathroom without any problem and she even helped me put things into the cart. The time before that she had a major meltdown in the middle of the isle, so I wasn't sure how this trip was going to go, but it was great! Even at home the trips to the bathroom have calmed down, before it was every five minutes and now it seems to be on a regular schedule. For a while I thought that it was always going to be that rough, but now I know that things are going to be alot calmer than thought.

" That sounds wonderful! I can't wait for the day that Marcus will walk with me without wanting to take off and run or sit on the floor wanting me to pick him up and carry him. It's getting harder to do that. He looks little, but he's a solid 43 lbs. I also can't wait for him to be potty trained! I'm sure school can't wait either! Thanks for the good news! As usual, gives the rest of us hope that are still going through the struggles. "

" Terri,
Does Marcus resist going into the stroller or cart when you're out shopping with him? Megan hated going into the cart, beside the fact that she was getting too big and she was uncomfortable, all I did was threaten her with going into the cart if she tried to wander off. Maybe this would help, if you haven't tried it already.

" Karen-Actually, Marc still likes going in the stroller so he wouldn't care! (the stinker). It comes in handy though when I want to go somewhere like a flea market where there's lots of walking. We'd never make it! When we were at Children's on Tuesday though, he walked the whole time and walked more than usual since we couldn't find the elevator! He's getting a little better though. How old is Meg again? I'm thinking she's pretty close to Marc's age? He's 6, 7 in March. "

" Meg turned 8 last June. Have faith that it will get better. I couldn't do this a year ago. "
