" I don't know if this was my best Down moment, but it was the most recent. My son, Drew, was leaving for work this morning and he asked Meg for a hug and kiss good-bye and she walked over to him and said" Aw Chew( Meg calls him Chew) love you, have a good day".
It was clear as a bell. Both Drew and I just stood there looking at each other with our mouths opened. She never ceases to amaze me. "

" The other day. Katie's dad arrived home from work. He walked into the room, katie looked at him with a big smile and said "hello, dad dad. " It brought a tear to both our eyes.

" As I was thinking about this today, thinking a little too hard trying to recall the perfect moment, my husband chirped in. "Waking Brendan up in the mornings." All hands down this is the best. At 13 he still sleeps all curled up like a baby and has the sweetest sleepy face. I can not resist every morning waking him up to a flood of kisses on his cheeks and snuggles. Many times I have called my husband into the room to have a look before I wake him because he is just irresistibly cute! "

" I remember when Hannah was in a typical kindergarten class and the students were all lined up for some kind of performance for the parents. The teacher had gone down the line and asked each student what they wanted to be when they grew up. When it was Hannah's turn she looked at the teacher matter of factly and stated BIG. I was so proud and laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes. Hannah to this day can be and still is quite literal. "

" Krisann, That is very cute. Out of the mouth of babes!
Another of my favorite moments, a milestones. I was discussing with B's PCA what kinda pizza to order and how much when my brothers red truck pulled up. I looked outside and said Uncle John's here, I guess we'll get 2 pizza's. Brendan ran to the door, hugged and got Johns attention and started rapidly signing Pizza Pizza. I just looked at Sue shocked. He just absorbed the conversation and knew what was happening.
And just one more favorite moment. B handed be a picture of a movie and I told him mommy can't see it she doesn't have her glasses. He took my glasses that were clipped on my shirt collar (I didn't realize I had them with me) and tried to put them on my face. He can be real smart and perceptive if he wants to be. "

" We were in music class and it was time to sing the goodbye song. Nathan crawled into the middle of our circle, sat down, got this huge grin on his face and waved bye to everyone.. It was the first time he waved :) "

While all the kids are tye-dying t-shirts in my front yard, my 6 year old son with ds, belts out michael jackson's beat it!!! I swear he astonishes me he can almost any song in existence, yet he hasn't told me yet - mom or dad i need to use the potty.... oops supposed to be cheery, still hope you laugh! have a wonderful day! " Some great stories and the best thing is most of you have chosen things that happen on a daily basis. How really cool is it to have your best Downs moment every single day !!!! : -)
I love Sam when he wakes and weekend mornings when we make a tent out of the duvet . He loves it !!! How he never ceases to amaze me like the day he just picked up a glass of milk and drank it with out spilling a drop. i had just about given up on him being able to do that and he just did it out of the blue. best moment ever was one day when we were living in the UK. i was rushing out the door for work and his nanny called him to say goodbye to me. he got to the middle landing in the stairs and shouted "bye bye I love you". As late as i was running it just stopped me in my tracks !! My non verbal son just told me he loved me for the first time . it was worth waiting 7 years to hear!!! Now I am more likely to be told " go away " now :-) Still sounds great tho !!! "
