Hi Everyone, Hope you are all feeling good. I just have a question. I picked up a copy of my ENG today to give to the physical therapist. It says :Impression: Findings suggest peripheral vestibular dysfunction on the right but CNS involvement cannot be ruled out. Should I have any other tests? What does this mean? Thanks for any help or advice. Take care, Mary Anne

I have ataxia. I have problems with my walking. When I move my head or bend over, I have problems with regaining my balance. My legs are week and I have trouble standing still - I sway. I also have problems walking over things. I have nerve damage in both legs and arms. My legs get real stiff and I start taking baby steps. I use a cane when I go out. I do have episodes of vertigo, but this is different. I get neuropathy in my right leg when I use it to much. Also in my left arm, but I have had spinal problems. I also can turn my neck very much, as 2 vertebrae fused themselves. The gait index the therapist gave me has be a medium fall risk. She has me working on turns and standing still. I have to sit and look at a number on the wall but when I move my head, it blurs and I have to keep trying to repeat it. Is this similar to your symptoms? Thanks so much.

CNS= central nervous system
I'm not an expert, but I would interpret this as saying you have inner ear problems on the right, but may also have central nervous system problems. I wouldn't let that worry you, because CNS problems can be relatively "minor" like migraines and don't always mean a scary problem with your brain. Take care and keep us updated.
