Advice:
Valium and a neurologist

I went to my dr this morning for bloodwork (which I feel sure will turn out OK because they are checking my thyroid and potassium, or whatever.) I asked for a referral to a neurologist and I go Mon for that. I have the MRIs to take with me. She said she felt like my jitters and weird eyes and bad feelings were from panic attacks. Or anxiety. She gave me Valium. She said not to take the Meclizine....to try the Valium and see how I do. For those of you who take this, do you take it every few hours? Or wait til the jitters start? It's only 5 mg but she said I could break it half if I needed to. If it made me too sleepy.

This vertigo is the worst stuff. I wouldn't wish it on anybody.

" 5 mgs is a fairly high dose. they come in 2.5, 5, and 10. I use to be on 5- 5mgs a day or as needed but since changing doctors I'm now on 2.5 mg 3x a day or as needed. However I have already been diagnosed with Menieres and the jumpy eyes is just a part of it. I take it when I just start feeling weird and I also take one as soon as I get up in the morning before I start running into the walls or trying to figure out what i'm suppose to be doing.. all depends on you and how you feel. for more insight or questions if you have Menieres I might suggest our other support group at menieres.org we all have it but to different degres. " OK, I'll definitely only take half the next time I need something. I haven't taken one yet. Probably tomorrow morning I will......that's usually when the jitters start. My BP was up this morning at the dr's, but I checked it at the pharmacy while I was waiting to get my RX filled and it had come back down.

" Hi alwayshurts
Just had a question about the jumpy eyes. They are still trying to diagnose me because I don't get very many true spins anymore and have no hearing loss. I do have the tininittis. I do have this jumpy eye thing and headaches. I can look in the cupboard at my plates and they seem to vibrate. I had a Brain MRI and a complete eye test and nothing. I am also on a small dose of prednisone for my autoimmune disease.
So my question is about the jumpy eyes. What is that like for you?
