Question on Pain Related to Divertuculus sp?

Ok, I think this is by a long shot--but really just some takes on this--first my history: I was born with a liver diesease, which was not found until the age of 19. On my Dad's 41st birthday, they knocked me out and basically "rebuilt" my liver: they removed severely damaged areas of the liver and since I was only born with half of a bile duct: they doctors had to build me two bile ducts (to this day, I still have not gotten an answer as to how they built these bild ducts, but hey--just glad they are there). Fast foward 21 yeas later and little sisters wedding reception--too much to drink, especially for a non drinker (had not had an drink in 20 years)--I ended up in the ER on the brink of liver failure. This was in 2005: since then I have had drains, T-tubes, what they call PCT tubes placed in my liver to keep it working. I was in and out of our local hospital and our specialist hospital in St.Louis MO 18 from 2005 to 2009 (during which this time, my father also passed away from Lung Cancer). I still have a tremendous amount of pain in my upper right side: throughout, this whole ordeal I heard this diverticulus? thrown around quite a bit: it was a seondary dx for me following the liver issues. As of right now, nothing is showing up on blood work, scans ...nothing etc that would explain the continued pain. I go to a Pain Management Clinic next week--really b/c my doc begged them to take me as they susually work with MVA accidents and bone pain(s). I do not know enough about what this diverticulus is, even after googling it to get a feel of how badly it can cause pain? Can this cause pain without anything at all showing up on lab tests or scans? Long story, I apologize--thank you for reading this and for any input you might have.

" Hi lgdennen,

Classic signs of diverticulitis are lower left single spot pain, fever, high white blood count, and positive CT scan.

There have been people on this site that have been walking around with no pain that were on the edge of death from it. The range of this disease is big.

There are people that suffer, yet do not have the big three symptoms. I cannot relate directly because I get the clasic symptoms. If I did not get treatment within a few days I would probably die.

There are many that get lower right pain, but I have not heard of upper right pain. That can be liver/gall bladder.

I know little except my own problems.

I hope you find the answers.

John "
