We have talked several times about the possibility that garlic could help us. There are several people taking garlic pills with great success. There have been a few failures on them too.
I believe that diverticulitis (maybe or maybe not diverticulous) is an inflammatory disease. That is why Mesalazine seems to work. There is web that records the inflammatory properties of foods. Garlic is off the charts compared to all other foods for its anti-inflammatory properties. http://www.nutritiondata.com/facts... Garlic pills seem to be the best method there is for delivery of garlic to the colon. Cooked or fresh garlic would have less garlic delivered to the colon. I am NOT taking garlic pills because I am on Mesalazine. There would be no way for me to know if garlic worked since I am feeling 100 percent healthy. I would be taking them if I did not have Mesalazine. There is a big potential up side and little to no down side. Posted on 09/30/09, 06:09 am |

Hey, I started taking garlic pills about one week ago. However, I've not found any sound advice on an acceptable dosage to help with our problem. Anyone know?? Thanks for all the help, advice and continued support. Donna

I tried the garlic capsules and it keeps giving me awful gas so I don't think I will take it anymore.
