Diverticulitis symptoms

I have read the clinical symptoms online but
I was wondering from first hand experience
what does it feel like ? I have a mild to moderate
cramping pain in my lower left side. I also
am passing mucus and have become very constipated
in the last 2 weeks . I don't have localized tenderness on
pressure to the area though which is one of the main
symptoms mentioned . Yesterday I had
intermittent pain that radiated into the groin area
and today it has a raw inflamed feeling to the area
with sharp twinges to the area. I don't have
a constant pain.
I did go to my GI about a month ago when I
had a lot of discomfort then it turned into
mild cramping throughout the day.He just wrote
it off to IBS . I am concerned because it seems
to be getting worse but I don't have the financial
means to get it properly diagnosed right now .
I did have a colonoscopy back in dec . which seemed to
precipitate this problem. No diverticuli were seen at that time.

" Jeffd1, I have had diverticulosis for years now and there is no medication that can help me. I have to stay off of nuts, seeds, popcorn. I have pain in lower left back and down into groin area and even into the anal area. Only relief is for me to go to the bathroom. I am due another colonoscopy and hopefully something more can be done. I have lived with the flare-ups for years now and don't believe there is anything on the market that will help that much. You have to avoid certain foods that cause the flare-ups. Strawberries are the worst you can eat and popcorn. "
