Advice:
Back pain with divirticulitis ??

I am 37 years old and I am going through my 3rd bout of divirticulitis. I am on my second round of cipro and just started flagyl with it. (first round of cipro my Dr. did not give flagyl with it.). I had a micor bowl perforation with the first diagnosis in whic did close on its own with antibiotics and a few days in the hospital. I had more severe pain with the perforation. the last 2 bouts have not been as painful as that but still painful. I have noticed that this time I have had more back pain and I was wondering if that is normal and has anyone else experienced back pain as well with the divriticulitis. I do have the left abdominal pain as I had before but never the amount of back pain as I have had this time.

" This my second attack. The first I had the pain on the left side, but this time the pain was more on the right side and I did have back also. The CT scan said diverticulits. I am still having some mild pain after 5 days of completing cipro and flagyl. About an hour after meals I have a BM. I do feel like I am on the mend. I guess back pain is all part of the misery. Hope you are better soon. "

" I had back pain with the bout I just finished. You may need to have your back checked too. My bout lasted 6 weeks. The mild disc degeneration was irritated by the multiple trips to the restroom. My doc suggest getting one of the support belts that people who lift heavy things wear. This with one muscle relaxer at bed time really made a difference. "

" I have had over a dozens attacks and now 5 months post colon resection surgery. With all my attacks I had back pain. Sometimes higher then normal. To relieve it I would take natural charcoal tablets. Mine was gas build up and it would press so bad on my back it was awful! "
