Ever since I was told my last ct scan showed thickening of the wall in my colon and that I need another colonoscopy to determine if there's a tumor, I have been under a bit of stress. The doctor wanted me to go a few weeks without a flare before doing the colonoscopy. I have an appt jan 20 to see if I'm ready for the colonoscopy. The colonoscopy to see if I have a tumor or scar tissue that either way will have to be cut out of my body. The waiting is so hard. I've known about this since before Christmas. In the last week I've lost my appetite. I eat bread w peanut butter or soup or drink juices, in addition to water, coffee, tea, and a couple diet cokes. I usually have a norm b.m. Every a.m. Yesterday a.m., I had diarrhea and threw up in the a.m. I had to help it along by finger but I felt better. I ate 1/2 and egg, cheese bagel for blast, bread w p.b. and then for dinner had a baked potato and 6 chicken wings. This a.m. I had a thick b.m. And started dry heaving. I wanted to throw up so badly but I couldn't. My stomach is growling, yet I'm still nauseus. Temp 98.6, drinking water slowly. So, I know you guys aren't doctors and I will see my dr or go to e.r if it doesn't go away but I want to know what you guys think.... Is this stress or a flare?

" No One here can Answer that..But I want to say Something about STRESS..

Get It Under Control.

Really.

You Have to Learn How to Calm Yourself,

Don't EVER Say..."Oh, It's JUST Stress"...Or "Just Anxiety".

When we Allow our Emotions to Rule, this has a Direct Negative Impact on our Digestive Tracts...and It is Immediate.

Stress lowers The Immune System...which is In Our Guts..When Adrenaline Hits...this Pulls Blood Away from our Digestive Tract..Causing it to Clamp Down...go into Spasm..Causing Either Constipation or Diarrhea..IBS.

If You Cannot Eat well, Make SURE you are getting the Nutrients anyway...I Drank Instant Carnation Breakfast..Took Vitamins, Made SURE I was Getting my Electrolytes Especially IF You Have Diarrhea...as these will become Depleted Rapidly..

Meditation...use It...Just Sit Comfy...and "Belly Breath" ...Seems Simple Enough, and it IS..Just a Few Minutes, Several Times a Day...Especially If You Feel Anxiety Rearing Its UGLY Head. Keep the Body CALM. Nice Slow Deep (All The Way to your Belly Button) Breaths In Thru Your Nose...Fully Breath Out thru Your Mouth...Several Minutes...Making SURE To Bring the Oxygen to Your Lower Lobes...Not Expanding the Ribs.

Oxygen, Hydration, Nutrition..Rest, Exercise. Give Your Body Every Good Thing it Needs to Heal..To Be Healthy is to Heal Thy Self.
Always Get a Blood Draw BEFORE Taking ANY Anti Biotics to make SURE You Have an Active Infection...Sometimes Diverticulosis CAN Cause Pain Without being Infected..and Ya Do NOT Wanna Be On the Meds Unless ya HAVE To Be...They are Very Damaging to the Digestive Tract..They Kill Off Everything Needed To Ensure Balance...Not Just the Infection...and it takes a LONG Time for the Body to Recover Not just from the Infection, but from the Medications as well.

Keep on Top of This, Get on Top Of Your Stress..If ya Feel Anxious, Go In, Have them do a Simple Blood Draw to see where Your WBC Is.

The A-Bombs Never Fully Cleared my Infections..I pretty Much Stayed Infected for over 10 Months..It Tore me Up...I Lost alot of Weight..Lived in Daily FEAR of Another Attack, Food, Even leaving my House after awhile.

A Thickening of the Colon wall is Normal after an Infection, and Is OK as Long as it is Not Stopping the Flow of Stool..It is also Normal to be "Sensitive" in that area for a LONG Time After Infection..I Called them "Hot Spots" cause the Twinges of Pain whenever Stool Passed thru the Once Infected area Felt Hot to Me.

I Knew when ever I was Reinfected cause my Entire Tummy was Tender, I Felt Anxious...Fatigued...Sick, and in More Pain then Usual.

Keep us Posted on How Your Doing...Hugs Girl. "

" How about some probiotics? I agree about the stress... I haven't even been diagnosed yet but I can certainly feel a difference in my gut if I'm stressed out about something. That's actually one of the "home remedies" I read about online.... Deep slow breaths to calm myself down, along with the heating pad. It helps a lot. I sleep with one on my abdomen every night.

Probiotics are supposed to be very good for the stomach and digestive track too... A friend of mine told me about "Good Belly". It's sold at Whole Foods... it's a drink. I don't know how much fiber is in it though... if it's loaded better off using that as maintenance... not during an attack. I suspect that would make things worse, but it's delicious! They have a blueberry drink... it's out of this world. They also sell Acidopholos... in capsule form. Keep it in the fridge.

Good luck... big hugs! "
