I want to lose 40 lbs by November 1, 2009. I've been overweight for 8 years now, and I am starting to feel like I will never be thin again. However, I do not want to give up!
I know I have to change the way I think about my weight loss. I need to stay positive, be patient, and strong-willed . I also need to be disciplined so I will continue to do the things I need to do everyday, like: 1) go to the gym, 2) eat the right foods, 3) keep a food diary, 4) restrict calories, 5) get 7-8 hours of sleep everyday, and 6) practice stress reduction. I would like to form a group of positive people to support and encourage each other on our weight loss journey by being strong instead of whiny and negative. Posted on 06/09/09, 05:06 pm |

Welcome AmberKay3! How is everyone doing? I hope you are still hanging in there, with hope and determination. Yesterday, after I found out that I had not lost any weight, I became a little bit sad. I don't want to give anyone the impression that I am not trying hard enough. I am trying very hard... I already confessed that I had eaten some pizza and a little too much brownie. :( I guess I figured that since I was eating more healthily and working out at the gym, I could eat a little junk food. I guess there's no easy way to lose weight. There is no room for cheating if I want to see good results on the scale. I learned my lesson. Iam determined to lose this weight! I have been reading about the foods I should be eating, those that give me the most nutrients for the calories consumed. I went to buy them already. I also got myself some vitamins. TODAY I did great!!! I can pat myself on the back. I ate VERY well and exercised for an hour. I will take this endeavor one day at a time. I am happy with today. :). I am planning on a repeat tomorrow. God help me. I can do anything through Him who gives me strength.

I have now only 25 lbs to lose by Christmas Day. Been drinking loads and loads of of decaf tea, and I mean loads and loads to stop me snacking. It works, was down 1.4 lbs yesterday with points in hand.
My next goal is to be 174.4 by 28th July am sitting at 177.2 so half way there already.

Well done carolin57. 3lbs less to go. YIPPEE. You can do this, great that the decaf tea, has helped curb appetite. How is the exercise going for everybody? Hope you are all staying committed and focussed, (or plodding along, like me - whatever works, lol), have your diet plan fine tuned and perfected, have not let one morsel of food cross your lips that shouldn't have, have exercised to within an inch of your life and been an otherwise model of perfection!!! If not...welcome to the real world and keep on keeping on, doing the best that you can. Make it happen. hugs to all

Count me in! Thanks for the invite..No excuses, no whining. Time to sac up, eat right and excercise. I know what needs to be done, just time to practice shutting my mouth at the right time, 40lbs is a reasonable goal by Nov. I'm 48, overweight and choose life. Hi Gentlemom and all the gals etc.- No way I will reach my first goal..unless a mirecale happens and 2.75 kgs (nearly 6 lbs I think) disappear overnight! Haven't my/your oversized fat cells got the message yet? They are in the process of being downsized and their excess fat holding abilities BANISHED for good! So....If you fell off the wagon like me yesterday(and into the cookie jar, porridge and cream pot or whatever),pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over again! I might be repeating myself, but TODAY or, if evening for you already....THE NEW DAY AHEAD, is the first day of the rest of your/our life/lives. Leave every negative thought behind with yesterday and start afresh with the new day ahead. Be encouraged and keep on keeping on. You/we will conquer!
