I'm about to start on a 20lb drop and I want to cleanse my system via laxatives / diuretics...

1) Which over the counter brands are effective?
2) Where can I buy them?
3) What is the cost?

Thanks all!

" Yeah, I agree. Please be careful using any diretics. it can unbalance your potassium level. trust me, I know. It happened to me.

here's a natural way to detox your body: watermelon & cantolupe. I eat 1 C each for 3-4 days (for a snack). I lost 4lbs. in 3 days. BUT..........you only do this for 3-4 days then not do this for another week.

Good luck! "

" Thanks for the fiber, melon, water tips!

I also got one that said that Caster Oil would be a good natural laxative...

The "need" to cleanse is so that I can get all of the junk (red meat) etc, out of me and focus on adding only things that are more healthy.

What do you think of that idea? "

" "CleanseSmart" I think it costs around $30. It takes 30 days to completely clean out your system. There are 2 bottles, morning and night cleanse. I used it and it worked great. It didn't give me the harsh cramps that laxatives give you, it just made me go to the bathroom like 3 times a day. The first couple of days sucked but, I felt soooo good after that. It worked great. " Why? The whole detox thing is a huge money making scheme with very little proven benefit. I am yet to see a website advocating detox which isn't trying to sell you something "

" Chubbyrob, a lot of the detox schemes are just glorified laxatives designed to simply take your money. However, not everyone's bodies are able to dispose of their waste properly. In fact I had a friend hospitalized for it. The cleansing in a healthy way is not a bad idea. I felt great afterwards. I will emphasize though that you have to go the healthy route. "
