Hello everyone, I'm new to this group I'm hopping I can share my struggles with weight lose and not be judged for failing so many times. Just a little about me... I gained 60lbs shortly after getting married..I was a size 6/7 when I met my husband. We have been married 6 yrs and last year I learned my husband was having an affair on me for 5 months right under my nose. I was devastated and crushed ... when I asked him why he cheated on me ... the first thing he told my was because I got fat he wasn't attracted to me any more He didn't like my fat body. I wanted to die I felt awful and began to hate myself for getting so fat. He told me that the other women had a better body and it was nice being sexual with someone who didn't have a belly. I have been in therapy for a year and I know it wasn't my fault in any way shape or form. He is responsible for his actions. I have been trying for the past year to loose weight and Im up and down and can't seem to get a grip and shed these unwanted pounds! I struggle every day with eating proper I feel like all I do is eat, eat, eat I need a change I need some help and some support. I know my husband still hates my body but he says he loves me. I just want to look in the mirror and like what I see again. God help me I don't know what to do anymore.

Oh and by the way, welcome! You'll get lots of great support here and all kinds of advice and opinion.
You'll also get understanding because I would say all the people have struggled a long time and with many different "diets" in weight loss attempts. But don't lose heart-you will lose. Mostly it's a matter of changing lifestyle and sticking to it after your slip-ups-which will happen. Just cut out the crappy junky fast and packaged proccessed "foods" from your life and eat well of whole foods. Cut sugar and white breads and pastas and eat whole grains. Eat nuts and beans of all kinds. Eat all kinds of veggies and fruits. Fill yourself with wholesome food and start to move! Your weight WILL come off. Come back here frequently and join the weigh-in. You can do it. Just keep at it. You have no idea how much better you will feel. Welcome. Here, we do not love according to a number on the scale.

Welcome. I was sorry to read what you went through with your husband. That must have been very, very difficult.
Do you have a plan for what you are going to do to lose weight? Having a plan helps. Think about what will work for you and your lifestyle, what is doable for you and will not make you feel miserable and deprived. Here is what works for me. I eat lean protein (chicken, fish, turkey, cottage cheese, some plain yogurt), unlimited vegetables that are either raw, steamed, or sauteed or roasted in a little olive oil, unlimited fruit except for bananas, a little bit of healthy fat (nuts, avocados, and olive oil), and whole grain starches (bread, pasta, rice) in moderation, like one piece of bread or a half a cup serving per meal, no more. For snacks, I eat raw vegetables or a small amount of nuts or a half of an avocado or a half a cup of cottage cheese or something like that. I don't keep unhealthy foods in my house - no chips, ice cream, cookies, candy or anything like that. I do keep cheese around because my husband can't live without it, and I have learned how to eat one ounce of cheese and then stop. I move as much as I can, mostly walking. Walking seems to be the form of exercise that doesn't make me feel like a hamster on a wheel and that I actually enjoy. Other people enjoy going to the gym or riding their bikes or taking a dance class or working out with a dvd at home, or whatever. Everybody is different in terms of what works for them. I put all this out there just to give you some ideas. Good luck and feel free to ask questions. If something doesn't work for you, try something else. Weight loss is not one size fits all. Everybody does it a little differently. The important thing is to find a combination of things that work well for you.

Girl, I know what your going through. I was going through something somewhat similar like you. My mom passed away 9 months ago (October 2011 and then 3 months later (Jan 2012) my so called bestfriend/boyfriend broke up with me after 7 years being together. Jan and February he was seeing some manic chick who was tiny. Crazy and has problems which he did not know at the time. Well this was behind my back but I knew something was off. I got so depressed that I lost 11 lbs. Right now I have gotten off my diet that I had started on my own in January then the crap happened. He needed to love me for me not my size. The loosing wieght is for me, and not for him. I was born with a heart condition and want to do better for myself.
I am on the Your Health Diet, it was working great, but a co worker of mine at work is on the Ideal Protien Diet, its working for her she has lost 20 lbs in a month and has 30 more to go. It is a pure liquid diet I think. Going to do some research on it. I had stopped working out for a month due to a sprained ankle.Ugh. I work out at the gym, do zumba and crunches at home. I am doing the support group on here, and on anti depressants. It has helped me alot from being emotional. If a guy says you are not attractive he is wrong. Don't judge the book by its cover, what is on the inside is what counts. Personality, communication and the heart is what counts. Do not let anyone tell you other wise. It is not your fault that gained weight. Before I had my son and after I stayed a size 5-7. I used to be a 12 now I am a 10 and working on getting to atleast 130 lbs. Also, what I learned at church if a man says to a woman or vice versa to a man that your not attractive its putting god's creation down. God created you as you are. Look in the mirror and say I am beautiful and always will be. Keep your chin up and be proud of the person you are. Loose the weight because you want to and not for him or anyone else. Just for you..... Hugs.. Hope this helps..
